I woke up to an empty bed, the smell of food filling my nose. I licked my lips and sat up throwing the blankets off me and placing my feet on the cold hard wood floor. I slipped on my slippers and headed downstairs, following the scent of the deliciousness.

I made my way into the dining room to find Niall and his dad Bobby seated at the table. Niall's eyes lit up when he saw me.

"Good morning, Melody. I was just coming up to wake you," he smiled at me.

"Good morning Nialler," I smiled and took a seat beside him, "good morning Bobby," I said to his dad.

"Well, top o' the mornin' to ya!" he winked and took a sip of his tea.

I laughed and turned to Niall, "where's your mom?"

"She's making breakfast, I reckon it's almost done. Don't it smell fantastic?" he smiled and I nodded.

...

We ate breakfast, and we all talked about random things; mostly about the shooting. Everyone in the media was talking about it, and no one could figure out who did it, or why.

Well, I knew why.

Niall knew why.

They want me.

Whoever 'they' are.

After breakfast was done, Niall and I went upstairs to change and brush hair and teeth and showers, all that jazz.

When I was ready to start the day, I headed back downstairs to help Maura with the dishes. We were in the kitchen, Niall and his dad went out to the backyard to put away lawn chairs and tables because it's almost winter. As I dried and put away the dishes Maura turned to me.

"So are you really okay?" she asked.

I raised an eyebrow, "about what?" I asked, glancing down at her since I was taller.

"The shooting. How are you and Niall, I heard a bit of a fight break out last night and I hope everythings okay?" she questioned, handing me a handful and wet silverware.

I began drying them one by one and put them in the drawer, "Yeah," I shrugged, "I guess we were both just really worked up about the whole thing. It was scary," I shivered.

She nodded, scrubbing the pan, "Niall really cares about you."

I nodded, "I know, he's never failed to prove it. I'm lucky to have him, he's really amazing."

She smiled and handed me the clean soapy pan, "when he told me about you months ago, I was a little worried. I didn't know how you'd treat my son," she continued washing more silverware, "I figured you were just here for the fame, but I'm glad it's you he fell in love with because I can tell you love him, and you care for him, and even if all this fame wasn't around, you'd still be."

I smiled really wide, "Thank you for that Maura. I really appreciate you saying that. I do love your son," I sighed happily, "he's made me so happy-"

"Who's made you so happy?" Niall asked suddenly walking in the room.

I blushed and shrugged, "you."

"Talking about me, eh?" he smirked, wiggling his eyebrows.

I gasped and pointed at him, "You said eh! My Canadian-ness is rubbing off on you!" I squealed and giggled.

"Oh shut up," he laughed, kissing my cheek.

"Rude," I mumbled, a smile playing at my lips.

Maura laughed, "alright you love birds, enough," she winked.

"Lovebirds? Me and him?" I playfully nudged him and shook my head, "No way!" I ruffled his hair.

He frowned at me, and fixed his hair, "but you love me," he pouted, sticking out his bottom lip.

I giggled, "I love your mom, she makes good food," I winked.

Maura laughed and Niall jokingly rolled his eyes.

As we all laughed I heard a car pull up in the drive way and a loud bang on the front door.

"I'll get it," Maura told us.

I saw Niall's face go pale, "No ma, allow me!" she shrugged and I followed along behind him.

"What's wrong?" I whispered.

"I don't know who it is, and I'm paranoid about the note," he whispered back. I nodded and he pulled the door open.

"NIALLER! MELODY! SO GOOD TO SEE YOU!" Harry shouted pushing past us and making himself at home.

"Hey guys," Liam smiled and stepped in.

"Hey hey!" Louis jumped in the door way, kissed me on the cheek and lightly tapped Niall's face.

I looked at Niall and giggled, "They're hyper," he smiled and nodded.

"Where's Zayn?" Niall asked.

"Right here!" he called from the car.

I stepped outside on the porch, "What're you doing?" I called.

"I bought pizzas but the guys are too pig headed to help carry them in!" he shouted angrily.

I shook my head and stiffled a laugh, jogging down to meet him.

"Five pizzas?!" I asked grabbing two boxes.

"Hey, we all eat a lot," he shrugged heading for the door.

I chuckled, and nudged the car door shut with my butt and followed behind Zayn.

I entered the house to hear laughter and shouting and headache material noise.

"Hey guys! Let's head upstairs!" Niall called and I heard them all emerge from the living room and make their way up. Niall passed me and took the boxes from my hands. I smiled lightly and followed behind him.

We got into the room and I stood in the door way. I watched as Niall stacked the pizzas down on top of each other, on his desk. Liam sat in his desk chair, Zayn and Harry claimed the two bean bag chairs and Louis was over by Liam already digging in the pizza. I stared at Niall from the door way and he smiled and walked over to me.

"Cmon," he mumbled, grabbing my hand and pulling me in. He shut the door behind me and lead me over to his bed. He layed against the headboard and pulled me down into a cuddle.

"So!" Harry clapped his hands together, "Louis, bring me some pizza!"

"Me too!" Zayn ordered.

Liam laughed, grabbed the top box and placed it in his lap. He wheeled the desk chair over to the guys and set the box down between them and wheeled back. I rolled my eyes, these guys are hilarious together.
