The Demon Within

Chapter 7

Zeke POV

After we finish making dinner, we ate it. I'm currently in my room watching tv. I hear a knock on a door and look at the door that connects to Jess's room. I see it crack open and her head pops in, déjà vu.

"Zeke?"

"Yes, littlehead?" I joke.
"Can I come in?"
"Yes, and bring the rest of your body."
She walks in and takes a seat in front of me on the bed.

"Can you train me?"
"Now?" I ask confused, she was complaining earlier about wanting to stop.
"Yeah, I want to get stronger, that and I can't sleep..."

"Ok, be ready in 10, and meet me at the gym door."
"Okay!" She pops off the bed and runs into her room.

"What a weirdo."

I walk to the gym and wait for her. She finally comes after 10 minutes.

"Your late."
"By a minute!"
"Uh-Huh." I unlock the gym and walk in and find the light switch.

"So what do you want to do?" I ask facing her.
"I want to fight you, for real." She says with this evil look in her eyes.

"You think you can?" I ask with confidence.
"Yep." She says and comes at me.
"Ok"

I dodge and swing at her but she dodged and swept her feet but I wasn't trick.
After 30 minutes of doing that, we laid on the floor, exhausted.

"Where did you learn to fight?" I ask her, she wasn't that good earlier.
"I took a self defense class a while back..."
"Why?"
"Dad made me, now I understand why."
"That explains it." I understand he wanted to protect her.
"So now what?" She ask sitting up.

"Sleep?"

"No! Come on get up!! Train me!"

"Why are you so eager?" I ask sitting up.
"...I had this dream, it looked real though, like the future." She wouldn't finish and I know there was more.
"And?" I try to get her to speak.
"I saw you die.."
Whoa.. okay..
"I'm not going to die."

"It looked so real though! I don't want what I saw to happen, she said it will! I.... I need to get stronger.."

She?

"Jess, who said that would happen?"

"Aleu"
"Who's that?"
" the demon that's in me, her name is Aleu."

The is new information! Can her demon see the future? And I thought the snake didn't have a name. I need to talk to this with uncle Scott and will.

"Ok look, why don't we go get some sleep, we can talk about this tomorrow."

"Yeah, okay.." she says yawning
"Come on." I say and give her a hand up. We walk out of the gym and I lock the door behind us.
We walk to my room and I'm about to enter when I see Jess standing by my door playing with her thumbs. She does that when she's nervous.
"Want to come and sleep in here?" I ask finally knowing what she wanted.
"Can I?"
"Yea, come in."
We walk in and I head to the closet.

"Why don't you go get changed in your room and come back?" I ask knowing that her outfit isn't the comfiest.

"Okay"
She walks to the door that connects our room and turns the handle but it won't open.

"Zeke it won't open, like its lock."
"Oh right, the locks lock themselves after midnight, kind of like a curfew." I explain.
"That's weird but how come yours got open?"
I dangle my key chain in my hand. "Keys."
"I need one..." I hear her mumble.
I throw a shirt at her, " Here you can sleep in this." I say and head back to the closet to let her change and to get my self change. "Thanks" I hear her say.
I give her a few minutes and walk out to find her in my bed all snuggled up in the covers.
I chuckle, "you really are a piece of work." I say and climb in bed. As soon as I get comfortable I pull Jess towards me and snuggle with her. And fall into a deep sleep.
