"So what happened with you and Y/n at the Rail Dawgs game?" Morgan asked Spencer. "Top secret." Spencer said with a small smile. The truth was simple. He was way too nervous to consider a date so he simply chose to make it a hangout. At the end of the night though, you and Spencer agreed to hang out once a week to keep things level. Thank god, your bed rest week was up. Though Hotch still believed you needed some kind of counseling. But of course he kept that to himself.
Morgan opened his mouth to speak but another agent cut him off. "Derek, hey. I put the transcript from the last prison interview on your desk." the woman said. "Ok. It wasn't classified rush. You could have sent it inter office." Morgan said. "I could have." She flirted. Morgan had a wide grin and two other female agents checked him out as they were walking. "Must be tough, man." Spencer said sarcastically. "Not really." Morgan said with a chuckle. "What do you mean? You don't do anything and these women are throwing themselves at you." Spencer said with a hilarious sigh. "Oh I know one woman who would definitely date you." Morgan said. "Who?" Spencer asked. "Hey Spence" You greeted walking by. He gave a small wave with a smile. "Her." Morgan said. "Wha-- No way." Spencer said. "Reid, she always goes to you. She always has a smile plastered on her face talking to you-- for God's sake, you talk in unison with your facts and references." Morgan pointed out. Spencer shook his head. "There is no way someone like her, likes someone like me. Besides, I'm still wondering why you don't date the women here who hit on you." Spencer said. "Strictly off-limits, Reid." Morgan chuckled. "There's no code of conduct that says agents can't socialize." Spencer pointed out. "Well, see my code of survival says never mess with a woman who carries a gun." Morgan said making Spencer laugh.
You came back to your desk with a cup of coffee and smiled. "So I may or may not have gotten the pictures developed." You said to Spencer. He smiled. "Seriously? How bad are they?" He asked. You handed him five pictures and he found one that he really liked. You had your arm around him, smiling wide in your hockey jersey and he was smiling too. "That one's not bad." He said. You chuckled. "I thought so too." you said with a smile, standing next to him. He turned his head, smiling and then realizing how close you two were. You both didn't move and Morgan watched in anticipation of something happening until--
" Reid, Morgan, Y/n, document's up on the screen regarding the kidnapping of Trish Davenport." Hotch said. Morgan threw his hands up in frustration and you slowly moved away, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear. "Have you read them yet?" Spencer asked. "Yeah, got a copy from the document examiner." Hotch confirmed as you, Morgan and Spencer followed Elle and Hotch. "What's it say?" Morgan asked. "That we've got until 8:00 tonight." Hotch said walking into the conference room. The letter was pulled up and Spencer leaned close, reading it. "You will follow instructions carefully. You will do this to ensure the safety of your daughter. You will wait for the call. You will answer the call at 8:00 P. M. You will write down the instructions and follow them to the letter." Spencer read out loud. "That gives us less than 9 hours to get to Connecticut work up victimology on Trish davenport and prepare her father for the ransom drop." Hotch said. "How do we know the letter's real?" Gideon asked. "The handwriting is a match for Trish's. He dictated it to her, and they found saline on the paper." Hotch said. "Her tears." Gideon muttered. "He never says 'I.' He doesn't say 'I will call.' He says, 'you will answer the call.' He's distancing himself from the kidnapping. If he said 'I', he'd be taking responsibility for it." Morgan noted. Spencer looked over at you, watching you stare at the letter, cocking your head to the side like a confused puppy. "There's also another missing element. No mention of the police. Ransom notes almost always forbid police involvement." Hotch pointed out. "So is he expecting law enforcement to get involved?" Morgan asked. "Well, if he's expecting us, let's not disappoint him." Gideon said.
You looked up, Spencer still looking at you. "What?" You asked. "Nothing..." He said shaking his head. "No, I know that look. You were thinking? What about?" You asked. "You know my looks?" Spencer asked as the team walked out. "Yeah. You furrow your brow and bite your bottom lip when your focused." You said. Spencer gave you a smile. "You do realize that every time you're focused, you stare off with a squint and when you get evidence you treat it like a jigsaw puzzle and get adorably happy?" Spencer said. Morgan stopped in the doorway and you rose a brow. "I'm adorable?" You asked. Spencer stumbled for something to say and you grabbed your bag. "Come on. The jet will leave without us if we don't hurry." You laughed. You slipped past Morgan and Spencer lagged behind, running a hand over his face. "You sure that girl isn't in love with you?" Morgan asked. Spencer shook his head. "Once again: There is no way when you look like that, you go for a guy who looks like me." Spencer declared before walking away. Morgan groaned, following the rest of the team.
