"Melanie." Klaus' eyes widened. He knew that it was actually her. Just by her standing with her back straight, and her arms crossed, it screamed 'Melanie' in every way.

"What do you think you're doing?" Melanie said.

"I-I-"

"Wrong. I think that you're trying to dagger my daughter again." She smirked.

"You don't understand, Mel-" Klaus tried, but he was cut off again.

"No, I do understand. Do you not think that I can't see what you're doing? And, whatever you are trying to do, you shouldn't. You're not always right, Niklaus." Melanie said. Klaus, as long as everyone in the room, were confused. Suddenly, Eleanor's body dropped to the floor.

Nobody knew what to do. They all stayed where they were, not moving an inch. They feared that if they did, something would happen. Then, Eleanor started coughing.

Klaus and Rebekah rushed over to her. They kneeled beside her, trying to calm her down. She was panicking. I wouldn't blame her; if you woke up in a random room with new people, what would you do?

"N-Nik. What h-happened?" Eleanor said, trying to catch her breath.

"Um-"

"You need to rest, Eleanor. Let's go home." Rebekah cut Nik off, avoiding the question. Nik gave her a questioning look, but Rebekah brushed it off.

"But, what-" Rebekah cut her off again.

"It's getting dark, Eleanor. You had a rough day." She stood up, so did Nik and Eleanor. Eleanor felt slightly light-headed for a second, leaning into Nik for balance.

"Are you coming, Nik?" Eleanor turned back just as the two girls walked away. She deicided that she'll ask them about what happened later.

"I'll be there soon, love." He forced a smile. Eleanor nodded slowly, knowing something was wrong. Eleanor and Rebekah descended up the stairs, making their way home.

"What was that?" Damon asked when they were gone.

"What did it look like?" Klaus rolled his eyes. He should've left with them, he wasn't in the mood to talk to them.

"A girl being possesed. Who's Melanie?" Alaric suddenly spoke up.

"Were you not listening? She's Eleanor's mother. She was a powerful witch, almost like my mother. Thankfully, she wasn't as strong as her." Klaus sighed. "She hated my family and I. Melanie believed that vampires were monsters and had to be killed. She was furious when we turned Eleanor. We had this huge fight, making all of us angry. Elijah hated her the most. On that night, he had enough of her shit, and he killed her."

"For the first time, you weren't the bad guy in this." Caroline crossed her arms.

"I was just trying to get Melanie to like me." Klaus shrugged, as if it was nothing.

"Why? So you could marry Eleanor?" Damon scoffed.

"Exactly." Klaus smirked, causing Damon to furrow his eyebrows. "We were secretly engaged. Since Melanie hated us, and Eleanor wanted to marry me, we kept our relationship hidden. Then, her mother fell 'ill'. El-"

"What do you mean 'ill'? Was she not?" Elena cut him off.

"No, she never was. She faked it." Klaus said.

"Why?" Elena asked.

"We don't know." Klaus said. "Anyways, Eleanor decided that since her mother didn't have much time left, we should tell her about the engagement. Eleanor wanted to do it alone, so I waited for her outside her mothers room. I heard their shouting. It was brutal. Then, when stuff started crashing, I decided to go in. Melanie was standing, looking perfectly fine, with a glass vase in her hand. Eleanor was in the corner, with blood all over her clothes. I grabbed Eleanor, and we ran. We went to another village with Elijah and Rebekah. We turned her there. We did do it against her will, but we believed that she could have a better life. A few months later, when we could trust her to stay home by herself. We came home one day, and then we found her daggered on our bed."

Everyone was speechless. Even though they hated Klaus, they knew he was telling the truth.

"Well," Klaus said after a few minutes of silence, "I'm going to get going now." And with that, he sped out of the abandoned house.

"Nik!" Eleanor exclaimed when he walked through the front door. She had a mean look on her face. Most likely because Rebekah would not tell her anything about what happened on the way back to the house.

"Elle, are you okay?" Nik smiled and tried to kiss her cheek, but she moved away.

"Do I look okay, you scumbag?" She sneered. Nik wasn't startled or anything by that comment, he knew she'd start saying things like that.

"Eleanor, stop. You're going to make your magic go crazy." Nik said.

"No! I will not calm down! How hard is it to get answers in this house?" She shouted. Nik chuckled, then said, "Pretty hard, love."

"Shut up. I need a drink." Eleanor quickly walked into the dining room. She opened the glass cabinet and grabbed a random bottle of alchol. She poured it into the cup as Nik said, "Are you sure you want that?"

Eleanor glared at him and took a sip of the drink, but only to spit it out as it hit her tongue.

"What the hell is this?" She slammed the cup onto the table in frustration.

"You've never had alchol before, Elle." Nik smirked.

"Oh, right." She admitted and blushed. Nik looked down at the ground and smiled at how adorable she was. He walked over to her and wrapped his arms around her, resting his chin on the to of her head.

"I'm sorry, Eleanor." He whispered.

"Why?"

"Because I couldn't held you years ago. I should've undaggered you back in the 1200's" Nik stroked her hair. Eleanor felt the tears forming in her eyes.

"Don't be, Nik. You didn't want to risk anything." She sniffed. Her furrowed his eyebrows and pulled away from their embrace. He looked at her with a sad look.

"Why are you crying?" Nik asked quietly.

"I-I don't know, Nik. I'm just a mess. I don't know what's going on. I just want to know, Nik! We shouldn't be hiding secrets! You promised that you would be honest to me when I was alive. But, I-I don't know if you are." She admitted, tears streaming down her face. Nik didn't know how to respond. He knew she was right.

"I promise, Eleanor, I will tell you everything. You have my word." He said.

"Can I trust you?" Eleanor looked him in the eyes.

"Yes, because I love you." Nik looked back at her. She slowly nodded, knowing he was saying the truth.

"I love you too, Nik."
