I bet they told you that this earth was absolutely perfect; that 'the sky's the limit' and that everything you could dream of would be possible. Well, I hate to be the one to tell you this, but they fed you some stories.
I remember when I was your age. I heard stories of this place too, but they were nothing like the ones you heard.
You see, I heard stories of ancient cursed waters. Black magic rituals. Stories of death and unfulfilled prophecies. The things that lurk in the night.
This world isn't what it seems, and it's only getting worse. But you, despite that; have a job to do that's bigger than all of us.
Look, I'm gonna tell you some things. Things may seem unbelievable, and may be hard for you to accept, but they are things you need to know nonetheless. There's gonna come a time where you'll have to face everything, from your wildest dreams to your most horrible nightmares, but if you pay attention to everything around you (and be more cautious, not careless) when the time comes, you'll be ready.
Now the best place to start is from the beginning, so pay close attention, cause I'm only gonna say this once.
