Steve POV:
Working for S.H.I.E.L.D isn't so bad the pay is good enough, I have a lot of time to myself between missions and most of my missions are either with Natasha or Hecate sometimes even both. I find it hard to trust Natasha she's not a very open person but I have come to see her as a friend. As for Hecate she's worse, I know she doesn't trust me and as much as I want to trust her I can't, I mean I don't even know her real name.
I wonder why the girl has such major trust issues, I also wonder what's going on between her and agent Barton. On the other hand she's one of the best fighters I've ever seen and has saved my life more than once. I stare into my cup of coffee, Hecate and I have just finished with another mission and we have decided to grab a cup of coffee since it's six in the mourning.
'Is it blue?' She asks tying to guess my favourite colour.
'Why should I tell you? It's not like I'm getting any information in return.' I say hoping to bait her into telling me something about herself.
'It's blue.' Hecate confirms to herself taking a sip from her coffee and I sigh, (yes blue is my favourite colour Hecate is right)
'Is your favourite colour black?' I ask because she wears it a lot, but Hecate just shrugs.
'Is there literally nothing you can tell me?' I ask looking her in the eyes.
'I'm a girl, there now you have a piece of information.' This girl is insufferable.
'Please Hecate one question.' I say with a sigh and she places her mug down.
'Fine one question but only one, I'll answer 100% honest.' I was too shocked to do anything at first then I quickly go through my list of questions.
'What's your deepest secret?' I asks and Hecate raises her eyebrows.
'I have many which one?' She asks.
'One of your deepest secrets.' I say and she just shakes her head.
'No can do Cap sorry.' I sigh.
'Fine what's going on between you and Clint?' I ask and she frowns at this.
'What do you mean?'
'You two seem very close.' Hecate frowns.
'Clint's my brother.' She says, now I was not expecting that, why on earth do I feel so relieved, that's weird Rogers, stop it.
'So your last name is Barton?' I ask with a slight smirk.
'Technically yes but no.' She says and I'm thrown backing confusion.
'What?' I ask and Hecate sighs as she Strats to twist her cup around.
'I never knew my parents, I have no memory of them, Clint's parents adopted me when I was eight months old. So technically I'm a Barton but I wasn't born one.' I almost felt like falling out of my chair, I couldn't believe she actually gave me this much information. Maybe she trusts me a little after all.
Or maybe she's suppling me with information to keep me away from the secret topic.
'What about you and Tony, and Natasha?' I ask testing my luck.
'Clint's father worked for Howard Stark when Howard Stark met me he asked to be my godfather and Clint father agreed so Tony is my god family. As for Natasha I met her through Clint and S.H.I.E.L.D she's one of the few people I trust and in more ways that one I consider her my sister.' Wow I must be super lucky today.
'How long did it take you to trust all of them?' I ask.
'Well I grew up with Clint and Tony so even though they're a lot older than me that trust came naturally and I met Nat when I was eighteen and I've known her for seven years now. It took about two years to really trust her though.' I quickly do the maths in my head and realise that Hecate must be 25 years old.
'And I just gave my age away.' Hecate says.
'25?' I ask and she nods.
'How old are you spangles?'
'Well I went under when I was 25 so I'm 27 now but technically I'm over 70.'
'You don't look bad for a grandpa.' Hecate says and I just shake my head.
'Who else knows this secret you don't want to tell me?' I ask.
'Clint, Tony and Nat just them no one else.'
Hecate then gets up and places some money on the table.
'I got a new mission Cap, see you around.' With that Hecate walks of and I'm left to process the information I just managed to get after one year of trying.
(A/N: Hey guys so there was some Hecate Steve bonding for you guys. In case your confused about the time line there is a two year space between the avengers and winter soldier so yeah. Enjoy!)
