"Hmm-mph," Meliodas grunted as the bright early morning sun pierced his peaceful slumber. He sat up slowly rubbing his head gingerly. Damn, I must have really overdone it on the alcohol last night, Meliodas thought to himself. It was rare for him to consume so much liquor, something must have really been weighing on him.

"Good morning, Sir Meliodas." Elizabeth smiled brightly as he rubbed his sleepy eyes.

"You really shouldn't be so polite to a drunk womenizer!" Hawk snorted, annoyed.

Meliodas chuckled at the pig, slowly taking in the familiar surroundings and eventually realizing that everyone else was already awake and preparing breakfast.

They were all unusually quiet except for Hawk who was making snippy comments about Meliodas and his alcoholic habits.

"So, captain..." Ban broke the silence and spoke slowly as if expecting bad news, "Last night you called a name when you were drunk and we're all curious who they are. Does the name 'Hiroki' ring a bell?" he finished awkwardly.

Meliodas looked carefully at all the faces full of anticipation and then burst out laughing, causing rapid confusion.

"What the hell, captain!?" Ban started angrily, "We waited all morning to find out who this mystery person was and now you're laughing!?"

"Calm it, Ban," King murmured, "I'm sure the captain will come to his senses soon enough."

Sure enough, after five minutes of laughing and rolling all over the tavern floor, Meliodas picked himself up and took his place among his friends at the table.

"Look, if you really want to know that badly I'll tell you." He smiled brightly, causing everyone to lean in so they wouldn't miss anything.

"So about a century ago I had a boyfriend but he died later in battle. So yeah, Hiroki used to be my partner," he finished.

For a moment, there was merely silence. Everyone had to take a minute to process what their captain had just said.

"What!!??" exclaimed Diane suddenly, "You had a boyfriend, captain!?"

"That's what I just said."Meliodas smiled innocently while Ban gaped at him.

"Wait so are you... does this mean... that you're... gay...?" King asked finally.

"Wow, what a bold assumption!" Meliodas joked before turning serious, "No I'm not gay; I'm actually bisexual."

After a few seconds, everyone let out a collective Oh's in their sudden realization before continuing on with their morning meal. Meliodas was pleased that no one was against his sexuality although he'd only once been with another man. Ladies seemed to be his first go-to, it was easier and less complicated to date the opposite sex. Even Elizabeth didn't seem too shocked. Sure, she was a little surprised, but she was simply pondering and trying to picture his long-lost ex.

"Yo Ban you're awfully quiet," Meliodas vocalised his thoughts, "No questions for me?"

"Well if you don't mind..." Ban said sheepishly, "I was wondering... if you were the top or bottom when you were with a guy?"

Meliodas raised his eyebrows chuckling at the sudden question. It was an odd question for sure but then again Ban was an odd man. He pondered the question for a minute before answering.

"Well, if you must know I topped every time," he said proudly.

That caught everyone's attention.

"What, you were topping!!?" King laughed, "But you're so short and well... small."

"Yeah I wouldn't have expected that either," Diane said honestly.

"No offence sir Meliodas but it really does seem like a lie," Elizabeth smiled at him gently not trying to be rude but still dumbfounded by his response.

Meliodas just chuckled to himself as he ate his morning meal not taking heed of what the others were saying about him. He looked over to Ban who had posed the question to him but his back was facing Meliodas and he was cleaning. Something seemed off with him, he was so quiet and composed. However, Meliodas didn't want to push it, now all his friends had crowded around him asking about all of the juicy details. So he simply laughed at their questions and continued with his breakfast.
