"I've met someone that makes me feel seasick
Oh what a skill to have oh what a skill to have
So many skills that make her distinctive"C O N N E R
I walked into school later than I normally do so when I reached Evie, Dunya, Matt and Brooklynn were already there. They were sitting on one of the benches in the school's front yard.
"Good morning, James," Evie says with a smile so bright the sun was jealous. "Can I call you James? It suits you better than Connor, no offence."
"Of course," I turn to Matt with a scowl on my face. "May I talk to you privately?"
I grab his arm before he could say anything and drag him inside the school. I punch his shoulder.
"Ow!" He screams.
"I know you told her my middle name," I grit out.
He gives me an offended look, "Okay maybe I did give her your middle name. Admit you like her. If it were anyone else that called you by your middle name you would've punched them."
"Like her?" I think about it for a second. "Maybe I do like her but what's it to you?"
"I knew it!" He jumps up excitedly. "You'd make the cutest babies."
"Oh shut up," I roll my eyes.
He nods with a smirk on his face.

The happiness I felt when the lunch bell rang is indescribable. Not because I was hungry but because I got to see Evie-Rose's beautiful face for forty minutes. I would never admit that, though. Everyone would think I'm some pansy. I was walking slightly fast to the cafeteria. When I reached there I was glad to see there was an empty seat next to Evie. After about five minutes, Blaire walks in with her minion posse. I decided to talk to her.
"I'll be back I have to go do something," I say while getting up, not once do my eyes stop following every move Blaire does.
"Okay?" Everyone at the table looked at me weirdly as I walked to Blaire's table.
"I need to talk to you," I grit out while glaring at the spawn of the devil. "Privately."
She smirks at her friends, nods and follows me out the cafeteria doors.
"I know the posters were your doing," I don't beat around the bush. "Why would you come up with such bullshit?"
"So you realised," She still has that annoying smirk on her face. "They're not lies. It's not that hard to find information like that when her parents -sorry I meant her adoptive parents- have a public Instagram account documenting their life starting from the day they found her to now."
She pulls up their page and hands me her phone. She had scrolled down their posts until she reached the day they found Evie. She'd been abandoned when she was merely a month and a half old. Her real parents had left her on the side of the road with nothing but a diaper on. She looked adorable as a baby. How can someone have the heart to do that to their own child?
Blair snatches her phone out of my hand, "I may be a bitch but I'm not a liar."
She smiles at me one more time and then goes back to the cafeteria. I stay there thinking about it. I memorised their username, I want to check their page out. I want to know more about Evie. The bell rings signalling the end of lunch. I don't want to go to my next class but Evie's in it and I want to see her.
