Hey guys! I'm so sorry I didn't update sooner it has been KA-RAY-ZEE with the whole covid-19 pandemic going on but I will try to update as much as I possibly can as soon as I can. I really appreciate you all! 💕

Anyways, ON WITH THE STORY!!!!

Kalianna's POV

"Aang!" I screamed, looking over the side of the warship.

No...

"Help!" Sokka called.

I sent a wave of fire at the soldiers holding him down, making sure not to hurt him in the process.

"You could've killed me!" He complained.

"You're welcome!" I shouted sarcastically.

I spotted Zuko sneaking up on the waterbending girl (I still don't know what her name is)

"Duck!" I shouted. The girl ducked and I blasted a huge fireball at the banished prince, distracting him from the waterbender.

He looked at me with pure fury.

Uh oh.

He started running towards me, dodging any blasts of fire I shot at him. I realized I was cornered.

It was either jump into the freezing water and die, or fight and die. And frankly I didn't like either of those options.

"Nowhere left to run, nowhere left to hide." I closed my eyes, preparing for the certain pain that was coming.

Only it never came.

I opened my eyes to see most of the soldiers frozen in ice and the prince about to fall in the ocean.

Maybe it was the spark inside me.

Maybe it was the fact that I believed no one deserved to die.

But whatever it was pushed me to save him.

I grabbed hold of his hand as he began to slip.

"Hang on!" Using all my strength I pulled him up to the safety of the deck.

"You saved me.....why?" Zuko gasped.

"I couldn't just stand by and watch you fall." I whispered. "Unlike the Fire Nation I want peace, not war and power."

I stood up and ran to the sky bison.

"Yip yip!" Aang flicked the reins and Appa took off.

I looked over the edge of the saddle to see Zuko and an elderly man bend a huge fireball at us.

Aang used his airbending to push the fire into a glacier, saving us from being barbequed (literally).

I watched the ship get smaller and smaller as we flew farther away.

"Why did you help us? You're a firebender." waterbending girl scoffed.

"Just because I'm a firebender doesn't mean I'm like the Fire Lord and his generals." I spat. "Besides, Aang is technically a firebender as well, being the Avatar and all. Yet you don't even care if he firebends."

That made her shut up.

There was a long period of silence.

Aang soon landed Appa on a small tropical island.

We silently made camp for the night.

"Hey, we should do an icebreaker." Waterbending girl exclaimed excitedly. "You know, get to know each other better."

"That's a great idea Katara!" Aang complimented. "I'll start. I'm Aang, I can airbend, and my favorite food is anything sweet. You're next Sokka."

Sokka sighed reluctantly.

We continued to do icebreakers and games for a long time.

"Guys it's getting late and we have a long day of flying tomorrow." Katara said like a mother.

"Come on sis." Sokka whined, yawning.

"We're not even tired." Aang also yawned.

"No excuses, time for bed." Katara scolded.

The boys crawled to their sleeping bags and immediately fell asleep.

"Aren't you going to sleep?" Katara asked as she slipped in her sleeping bag, her eyes full of concern.

"Nah, I'm fine. I have to keep this fire going so we stay warm. I'll be fine." I replied.

"If you say so." She fell asleep within minutes.

Hours passed by though it seemed like mere minutes. Time becomes a blur when you're watching the flames dance around, telling stories.

I was brought out of my trance when I heard a stick snap. I went into a fighting position.

"Who's there!" I called in the direction of the sound. No one.

I began to walk into the forest, holding a flame in my hand so I could see where I was going.

Did I imagine it?

I started heading back to camp when a sharp object pierced my upper arm. Agonizing pain erupted in my arm and started spreading. I filled my lungs to scream but a hand covered my mouth, muffling it.

I tried to pry the person's hand off but it was useless.

My strength slowly ebbed away and I fell to the ground unable to move or speak. It felt like I was on fire and I slowly slipped into unconsciousness.
