//fuck you Bella
Roger stamped threw the jungle, flinching every few seconds when something stabbed his feet. He had learned not to notice anymore, it wasn't worth it. Right now he just wanted to find the last sane person in this hell. Of course he just got yelled at for no reason by Jack in front of the whole island. Ralph and his fights were getting more heated every day...They were never getting out of here.
"Simon? Simon are you-Oh, hey,"He smiled a little seeing the dark haired boy staring off at the sunset in the distance."Where were you earlier? We had a meeting,"Roger asked curiously taking a seat on the rotting log next to him. The two had been friends before they crashed, but Roger felt he really had something real with him now.
"I swear one of these days I'm gonna kill Jack or Piggy or Ralph...Or all of them,"He laughed a little looking at the ground and his tattered clothes. He was only half joking...Simon looked at the boy that approached him, giving him a small smile. "I was here, just thinking.." Simon answered, looking back at the sunset.
The dark haired boy froze at Roger's words, trying to pay no mind to them. It was always a gamble on the island of who would would get hurt or not, he figured the more ruthless people would be the cause. "You shouldn't say that, killing is..not good." Simon looked at Roger, trying to read any body language he could.
Even if the other boy was joking, Simon thought it was bad luck to mention that when they were fighting for survival and tensions would be high as it was.
"Oh don't be such a baby you know I don't mean it,"Roger rolled his eyes, giving Simon a gentle nudge. Did he mean it? He couldn't...Right? Whatever Simon was just to sensitive. All his questions stressed Roger out and pissed everyone else off.
"You usually seem serious, sorry.." Simon huffed out softly. He wasn't sure of anything anymore, Roger's intentions were one of them. The other boy was someone he couldn't shake off no matter how much he tried, was it fear? Or something else? He didn't know."Yeah like I'm actually going to pick up a rock and bash one of my friends brains in. That sounds probable,"Roger laughed a little. Simon was so dramatic. Did he really think he had that kind of ability? God, he had to stop thinking about this...It made him feel something he didn't know how to put into words...Nor did he want too..
"Anyways...What are you thinking about? Nature and butterflies and rainbows and stuff,"He teased looking out at the ocean and skyline as well. It was beautiful...One of the only truly calming things about this situation. You never missed the great view...
Simon giggled a bit at Roger's teasing, knowing it was only light hearted. "Nature, the future, and the amazing animals around here. They lizards are all so gentle and calm." He rambled on, too much to his liking but he felt that Roger actually wanted to know, and wasn't just teasing him for fun.
"You and your lizards,"Roger exclaimed with a smile. At least someone was enjoying themselves out hear. It seemed like a good time for Simon...Just roaming around in nature all day. What else could he want? Roger wished he could be like that...
The boy made a face feeling his stomach churn."Bleh I feel gross...I just want to go home. I don't care if Ralph's stupid dad comes or if a boat or something picks us up I just want it to be soon,"He exclaimed putting his head on Simon's shoulder with a sigh. Not minding the closeness...
"Maybe we will get rescued one day.." Simon spoke, but stopped his train of thought stopped when Roger set down his head on the boy's shoulder, not used to this type of contact. It's not that Simon minded it all too much, but he wasn't used to seeing the other boy this way, he seems..nice, but for how long? He didn't know.
"Maybe we will,"He yawned closing his eyes for a moment. When he closed his eyes he saw himself back in England at home. He saw his family...He saw his life before the crash...It all seemed so far away now. Roger opened his eyes feeling a tear slide down his cheek, he quickly wiped it moving away from Simon.
The dark haired boy decided to pry, wanting to know about what goes on without actually being around the other boys. "How are things with you and Jack, is he still being his usual self?" he asked, his tone soft and curious.
"Shitty. He's being more than his usual self unfortunately. He thinks he runs the whole damn world,"Roger huffed with an annoyed expression.Simon knows that this island is a temporary home for everyone until rescue, and yes, he has fun finding lizards and such. But at the same time, he wants to leave and live his life away from the danger he knows that he will be in if he stays here.
"Maybe you can put Jack in his place, or at least try to knock him down a peg or two..if you can." Simon said, wondering if Roger would take his words differently than how he meant to say. He wanted to live in peace with all the boys, but he knows that won't ever happen anytime soon.
The dark haired boy had an idea, not a very smart one, but it was worth a shot at least. "What if you stayed with me for a night, I can show you the animals that come out during the night, would that be fun for you?" He blurted out excitedly, wanting to at least show someone his new passion. His fascination with the creatures who lurk at night were growing as he stayed up on restless nights, looking for anything he can.
Whenever Simon thought the night's were safe to roam around the island, he was usually wrong and got too scared. But if Roger were to accompany him, he'd feel less scared and have someone as brave the other boy around.//thanks for reading, part 2 soon...word count~1028~
