Percy POV:
The air was knocked out of me as I was flown into the wall, landing on my knees. I coughed and then tilted my head to the side to spit out the pool of blood. Internally groaning as I got to my feet, feeling my right shoulder had come loose I reached over and popped it back into place. Moving it slowly as to get rid of the ache.
"Come on Perseus. You had enough yet?" Order shouted from across the dark room. The place was cold and the only light shone a red colour, eerily illuminating Order's features and the blood stained walls.
"Never." I managed to choke out. Walking slowly toward his figure once again. I could feel my strength waning as I fought him over and over again. I could tell that he was slowly getting weaker as well, his punches hurt a little less but were still powerful enough to break my femur. Somehow though, no matter what damage we did to each other, if we could place the bone back it seemed to heal. Although we could still feel the pain. Which I could tell was starting to affect him.
"Perseus, just let me win, I can tell you're in pain. Let me in and it'll all go away."
"I'm not the only one in pain dumbass. Just stop now and I won't snap your neck again." He absentmindedly rubbed his neck which was starting to heal. That's another thing. We couldn't seem to die. Neither one of us knew why this was happening, but I had a feeling it was because someone healed my body. We both had come to the conclusion that this was my subconscious. That we were battling for control over my body. I couldn't let him win. No matter how long I stayed here in this room, I would never let him win. Fates only know what he would do if he did, but I had a small inkling it had something to do with destruction of Chaos. Especially if he had access to my powers.
In this room it seemed we were both humans, no extra strength, no powers, but unable to die.
I ducked another punch that was aimed for my face and struck my right out to meet his stomach. He staggered back a few steps from the force and coughed up blood.
"Please, just stop now! No matter how long it takes, I won't let you win. You know that."
"Is that Perseus Jackson begging? No Poseidon scum, I will win this fight and I will take over your consciousness! I will kill Chaos and all of your little demigod chums. Every. Single. One." He sneered and I launched myself at him tackling him to the floor.
"No. You. WON'T!" Each word I slammed my fist across his face. Blood poured from his nose and mouth. Looking black under the red light. Before I could land another punch he kneed me in the groin and flipped us, allowing him to punch my face instead.
My head flung side to side with the force, my head was dizzy and light, I felt like I was going to lose consciousness. I suddenly flung my head upwards to meet his, effectively knocking the both of us out.
Chaos POV:
It had been weeks since the fight, since my son sacrificed himself. Since that stupid god of the sun healed him and sealed his fate. I was angry at him and they all knew it. Every single god was worried when they saw me. I watched as Percy's face looked like it had been beaten severely, blood pouring from his nose and mouth, before the bruises slowly started healing themselves.
I called a meeting of the gods and grew to taller than them as they sat there cowering in their seats. That's right. They should be afraid. They should be absolutely terrified. I turned to Apollo, glaring death threats in his direction.
"Chaos, could you please stop, you're scaring him." The calm voice of Hera flowed through my ears. I turned my gaze to her softening only slightly.
"He should be afraid." I spoke through my teeth. "You should all be terrified of what he has done." Anger seeped through my words. "Heck, I am." Those last three words showed the truth of the situation. The gods started showing signs of fear. It was about flipping time.
"What do you mean? Why are you scared?" The ever curious, grey eyed goddess asked.
"Because Athena, when Apollo decided to heal Percy, he pulled not only Percy back but also Order himself. Apollo didn't separate their blood before forcing it back into his body. You sealed Percy a fate worse than Tartarus. No one, not even the Fates know of his outcome, of his lifeline. When you healed him, his life string faded." Shock registered on their features. Apollo looked rightfully guilty.
"I told you not to heal him. Why didn't you listen?" I was shouting at the sun god now. I was beyond angry, I was seething and it came through the form of space. The room was slowly becoming darker and darker, small white stars and galaxies seemed to shine through the room. Oxygen seeping out causing the rest of the beings to gasp for air.
"Chaos." Zeus managed to choke out. I finally realised what was happening and brought the space back toward myself.
I then stormed back out of the throne room, shrinking myself to the human height and headed straight for the infirmary.
Annabeth POV:
Chaos just walked straight out of the throne room, I felt sick to the stomach. What did we do? What was Percy going through? I can't believe that this one is also my fault. I'm always the one dragging him into the worst situations. I was the reason he fell into Tartarus years ago and now I've sealed him in a fate that even the Fates themselves have no idea of.
I needed to talk to Chaos. I needed to find a way to help him, I needed to fix it. I had to do something, I couldn't just sit there and watch as Percy's body was being broken from the inside out from an unseeable force. It was breaking me, everytime something happened to him I felt like it was happening to me too.
I shot out of my chair and ran after the Primordial. There had to be something he wasn't telling us. There had to be something I could do.
I sprinted around Olympus, carefully dodging the working nymphs and other gods as they slowly rebuilt the place. It had taken a rather big hit and they were still redesigning a few places weeks later. I decided to stay out of the renovations this time. I couldn't think straight, I had just been sat at Percy's side, watching him slowly die.
The other Chaos soldiers were back in Camp Half-blood, they visited everyday to see the state of their leader but each time it broke them a little more, they all left crying. They were due to visit today, I rounded the corner and saw them flash into existence at the door to the infirmary. I kept running, ignoring the burning in my lungs. I had to talk to Chaos.
I burst into Percy's room, panting for breath. Everyone's head turned to me, I could hear Percy's bones slotting back into place. It seems it was his left shin this time, the bone had even punctured the skin. Purple blood trailed down from the opening, pooling into the mattress.
"Annabeth." My head snapped to Bianca reminding me of why I was here.
"Chaos!" I turned to the man sat at the foot of Percy's bed, his head in his hands. He didn't move as he grunted to acknowledge my existence. He ran his fingers through his hair and propped his chin on his hands. He was distraught, his black eyes rimmed red and there were evident stress lines in his forehead.
"What is it Daughter of Athena?" I tried to ignore the anger in his words.
"What's really going on with Percy? Why do his bones keep breaking? What is happening?" A tear escaped my eye, I was riddled with guilt, I was breaking at the seams and I hadn't slept properly in weeks. My voice broke at my last sentence as my body racked with silent sobs. Selena moved over to me and wrapped me in her arms. I felt waves of comfort radiating from her but it didn't do much.
"Chaos, she didn't know, she just wanted her fiance back." Selena's voice was calm and steady, something I hadn't felt in a long time.
"I guess you're right..." He sighed. He moved his head down so he could rub the back of his neck without moving his arms. "He is fighting Order."
