Promise

Chapter Seven

“Hey kid. Why are you crying?” a little boy came near me.
“I'm lost... I can't find my mom.” the little Duchess said.
“Don't cry. Come on. We're going to find your mom.” the boy said as he offered his hands.
“Okay...” little Duchess replied and accepted his hand.

Then a beam of light flashed...

“Mallows, what took you so long? I've been waiting for you.” little Duchess said with a smile. However, the boy was just quiet.

“Why are you so quiet? Why are you wearing that polo? I thought we'll be playing?” she asked the boy.

The boy just sighed and looked at him sadly.
“I... I'm sorry Mallows my parents decided to move to different place…” he paused and looked at little Duchess.

“My brothers and I don't agree with it, but we could do anything about it. But I promise… I will look for you. I will never forget you.” he held her hand.

Little Duchess started crying.

“You promise me, you won't leave me. You're a liar.” little Duchess cried. The boy hugged her and whispered to her ears.

“Remember this...” he whispered and show her the bracelet.

“This is the sign of our friendship l, so take care of yours.” he said and stood up.

“It's time for us to go.” the boy said and looked at the car near the park.

Little Duchess hugged the boy tight.

“Promise, you'll be back... I will wait for you.” she said...

Duchess woke up with a beam of light at her face. She slowly opened her eyes and saw a blurred image of a guy.

“M-Mallows?” she uttered softly.

She suddenly heard a familiar voice.

“Duchess? Are you awake?” the voice said.

She knew who own that voice.

“Asmo?” she asked while looking at the person.
“Yes, darling. How are you?” he confirmed.
“I... Wait… How? Why am I here?” she confusedly asked.
“Well... Someone brought you here. So, what really happen?” A guy eating chips said.
“Beel, can't you see? She's a bit confuse. Don't pressure her.” Levi said while looking at his phone.

Duchess looked around the room and sighed.

“My house was burned....” she paused then she released a deep sighed.
“Everything turned to ash...” she continued, but she paused when she remembered something.

Duchess looked around the room trying to find her luggage, but he couldn't find it.

“You said... Someone brought me her... Did that person happen to leave a luggage too?” she asked.
“Well...” Asmo said and looked at Beel and Levi.

Beel was about to answer when the door opened.

“Is she awake?” the guy with black hair asked.
“Yes, Lucifer.” Beel simply answered ang looked at me.

Lucifer entered the room with Satan and Mammon. All of them looked worried.

“Are you okay?” Satan asked and Duchess simply nodded.

“I... I just wanted to know if you happen to see my luggage?” she asked.

Lucifer looked at Beel. Then all of a sudden, Beel walked out of the room.

Everyone was quiet until Beel returned. Duchess saw her blue luggage and quickly stood.

“Thank you!” she exclaimed and hugged her luggage.

The boys were looking at her the who time.

'I thought I had lost you, mom and dad.' she thought

Suddenly, Mammon spoke.

“What's the big deal about the luggage anyways?” he asked without looking at Duchess.

Duchess slowly stood and faced then. She bowed as a sign of respect.

“Thank you for saving me, and bringing my luggage. I'm really sorry if I disturbed you. I will go ahead now.” She said and was about to walk about of the room when she lost her balance and almost fell. Luckily someone caught her.

“Be careful. You're still weak.” a guy with a bangs said.
“T-Thanks.” she replied and stood.
“Belphegor is my name… But you can call me Belphie.” Belphie introduced himself and lay on the couch near Beel.

“You are not going anywhere.” Lucifer said while looking at me.

Duchess was shocked and was about to complain when Satan interrupted.

“You said your house was burned. So, it means you don't have any place to stay.” Satan concluded. Duchess just looked down.

“You are welcome here. This room is empty so you can use this... for a while...” Lucifer offered.

Duchess was standing quietly.

'They're right. It's hard to find a new place.' she thought.

Duchess looked at them and sighed.

“Okay. But only for a while until I find a new house.” she simply replied and everyone nodded.

“Come here. Rest now.” Asmo grabbed her hand and dragged her to the bed.

“Okay, everyone leaves now. Duchess needs to have a good rest.” Lucifer ordered.

One by one, they left the room. Duchess looked at them and noticed something odd with Mammon.

“Why does he look so worried and irritated? Maybe he doesn't want me here.' she thought and looked at the ceiling of the room.

“So tired...” she said and removed her contact lenses. She felt her eyelids were getting heavy and slowly, her eyes closed.
