Song: My Demons - Starset

Torin heads back to his house just before dawn, telling me I have twenty minutes to arrive there as well or I'd face Iladriel's wrath. It's sad that he's afraid of someone at least seven years younger than him but whatever works I guess. I work better alone anyway. I've been trailing Harlowe, tracking her movements and studying how she works. She's very calculating and pays attention to even the slightest noise that draws her attention beyond the typical chatter. In a way, it reminds me of myself. If Harlowe and I have to fight, it will definitely be a war.

I arch a brow as I watch Harlowe disappear into Iladriel's tent. She hasn't been there since we came to Torin's, so what is she doing? I drop down from my perch on top of a lantern pole and slip through the shadows to get closer to the tent. I hear a small thud from inside and curse. Harlowe found Iladriel's room. Since she's down there, I decide to slip through the fabric and enter the tent. If the sword wasn't down there with her, I could simply lock her down there and get out of here without her in the way. I need the sword though. There's a small light in the room below, I can see it through the planks making up the floor of her booth. I keep my steps light and do the best I can to keep distance from the lantern.

"Hello Obi." Harlowe. Her voice is unmistakable.

"Harlowe." My voice comes out almost tense as I turn around to find her golden eyes glowing from the lantern's light peeking up through the floorboards.

"You were easy to draw in." She sighs. "I was rather hoping for a worthy foe."

"Well you haven't captured me yet, Harlowe."

A small smirk crosses her face as she lifts her left hand slightly and snaps her fingers.

The sides of the tent all move at once and Harlowe and I are surrounded by hooded figures. Well, I'm sure things could always be worse. At least I know she doesn't want me dead, so that's one less thing to worry over. I just have to get out of this without dragging Iladriel into it. I drop into a defensive stance and draw two daggers. I'm horribly outnumbered but I can't just give up without a fight. I manage to cut one person and stab another before I'm captured and my weapons are stripped from my body. I jerk my limbs in an attempt to free myself as I glare up at Harlowe's amused expression.

"That was an honorable attempt, Obi. I'm impressed. Take him to my quarters."

I'm dragged out of Iladriel's tent and through the stalls toward Harlowe's cottage. This is great... Fantastic.

I let out a sigh as the door opens to the cottage a short while later and Harlowe comes in carrying Zen's sword. She lightly tosses it onto one of the tables and smirks at me. Her associates left me securely bound on the floor near the fireplace and attached a shackle to my ankle to a metal ring bolted to the floor.

"I found something unusual in the child's tent. Was this the item the castle employee was looking for?"

"How am I supposed to know?" I grumble.

"You were with the castle employee, were you not? You knew what he was looking for."

"So what if it happens to be? I can't confirm since you kicked him out of here. I highly doubt that even if it was that you'd simply untie me, hand it over, and send me on my merry little way, right?"

She chuckles and shakes her head before crossing the room to stop in front of me. I look up from her black studded boots as she crouches down and her pale hand lightly grabs my chin.

"You amuse me, Obi. We will have much fun together."

"I hope you realize I'm not staying here." I growl as I jerk my face free.

"Who is going to save you? Mitsuhide cannot come into my Death Market, your little friends that were hiding you will not publicly cross me. Who are they, Obi? Who helped you?"

"No one."

"You're lying! There is no way someone can escape detection within my domain without help from an insider!" She snaps, getting to her feet. "You only make it worse for them. If you tell now, they will not die. If you refuse and I discover their identities on my own, they will suffer for their misdeeds before they die."

I keep my mouth shut and her glare darkens as she wills me to break, but it suddenly snaps into cool indifference as she walks into the kitchen and begins to dig through the cabinets.

"Are you hungry? Thirsty?" I don't respond and she sighs. "Fine, but I won't let you die, Obi. You belong to me now and you're just too much fun."

I'm going to kill Harlowe. Before, I just simply wanted to slip out from her reach and disappear, but now I'm going to end her. The shackle on my ankle has enough of a chain to allow me ten feet in a circular area to move around, and once Harlowe prepared a sandwich for herself and grabbed a bottle of rum to wash it down, she dragged the chain across the floor until I was on the floor in front of the couch. She curled up on the cushions and ate her sandwich as her free hand ran through my hair much like she was petting a dog. I tried to move away but with how I'm tied up, all I succeeded in doing was knocking myself over and she simply dragged me upright again and resumed the motion.

"Will you stop that!?" I snap as I wiggle my head away.

"But your hair is soft, much like cat."
