The next day.

Martina:

I could hear the birds singing, and I could feel the sun's heat on my body. I lay on a double bed with a single cover. I'm wearing yesterday's clothes because I didn't plan on staying out. I had been awake for a while, but I just didn't want to open my eyes and accept how my life has turned out. I feel like I'm a failure, and shouldn't even be in this world. I feel like I only came to the world, so people had someone to lie to and manipulate with.

Deep down, I probably know that it isn't the truth, but I can't decide how I feel, and that's how I feel at the moment. The only good thing there has happened lately is Kol, but I don't even know what we are, or if we ever will be together. How can I also know? My life is so fucking messy, and soon Kol will probably notice how damaged I am. Or then Kol is just going to leave town without saying anything because too much time has passed, and he sees that I'm not the same woman he once fell in love with.

''Good morning, sleepyhead.''

I opened my eyes slowly and looks up, and it's Shella who stood over in the door opening with a sweet smile. I don't know how she can always look so beautiful. Shella looks like a beautiful god, pretty but formal clothes. Her blonde hair is always set up beautifully, and then she has a natural glow around her.

''How did you sleep?'' She says.

''I actually slept better than I have for a long time. Thank you for letting me stay here, Shella, it means a lot to me.'' I say.

''You're my granddaughter, Martina, I would do anything for you.'' She says.

''How come? I mean, we don't even know each other.'' I say.

''I don't know how to describe it, but ever since you were born, you have been a light in life for me. The first time I held you in my eyes, I felt we had a special bond. '' She says.

''I always kept an eye on you in secret, your mother didn't know nor did your father. I bought this house shortly after your parents got a divorce. In that way, I could come here, and nobody would suspect me for looking after you. She says.

''That's the sweetest thing I ever have heard. Thank you for looking after me, even though I didn't know anything about you.'' I say.

''Let's go down and get some breakfast, what do you say?'' She says.

''What time is it? Because I have to go to work today and explain to my boss why I haven't shown up for a few days.'' I say.

''It's 11 am.'' She says.

''It has to be a quick breakfast then because my shift starts at 1 pm.''

The biggest smile across Shella's face and I'm pretty sure she almost shed a tear because of joy. I can see how much it means to Shella to have me around and spend time with me. I'm not gonna lie, and I like it too. Even though I'm not planning on keeping my title, then this could be the beginning of a relationship with my grandmother.

Kol:

I was lying in my own little world and sleeping until I woke up of the sounds Hayley and Zac arguing. I opened my eyes and saw that Amara is still asleep. I look at my phone and the time is 9 pm. The only thing I can think of is to go out and ask them to shut the hell up before they wake Amara up because I need more sleep than four to five hours of sleep. I stand up and take a T-shirt on, and goes out to the kitchen.
