The New Girl

I quickly made a home for myself in the small town of Mystic Falls, Virginia, where I thought was the perfect site for a new photographer. Little did I know the crazy things that happen and crazy people that live in Mystic Falls. I was only in high school, but I was there because I was held beck, I'm actually 18, my birthday is on June 30th, so the day after I got there I enrolled in the high school. I had so much unpacking to do, it was crazy. I had moved out of my dad's place when I turned 18, I wanted to have a better place to take photos. We lived in Death Valley, California, not only is it excruciatingly hot there, but the land is too barren to take really good pictures.

I started with the boxes in the bathroom, it would be the fastest. As I started to unpack the first box and take out the aspirin there was a knock on the front door.

I quickly walked to open it, expecting it to be my friend Olesya, who had moved with me, or my sister Mikayla, who had moved to Mystic Falls three years before. As I opened the door I could here a soft scratching sound, my cat Cracker. The opening of the door came with a high pitched voice.

"Welcome to Mystic Falls, I'm Caroline Forbes, daughter of the sheriff. You'll be going to school with me." I immediately registered her curled blonde hair and short skirt.

Probably a cheer leader too. I thought.

I put on one of my best fake smiles, "Hi, I'm Crystal." Please don't be a junior. "What year are you?" I asked.

"Excuse me?" Caroline asked.

"I mean in school." I simply stated, trying to figure out how she didn't know that.

"Oh, I'm a junior." Caroline practically jumped up and down in excitement, smile still plastered on her face.

Crap, I guess I'm stuck with her for two more years. I though sarcastically bored.

"So am I." I tried to sound excited and cheery, something I had a lot of experience with, "Well I have to go unpack, but thanks for stopping by." I said subtly, starting to shut the door.

"If you get the chance, there's a party at the Falls tonight." Caroline said before I could close the door. Party! Now the smile I had on my face was real.

"When is it?"I quickly asked

"It starts at nine, ends whenever you leave." Said Caroline. "I'll be there, so well my friends, Bonnie, Elena, and our newest member Stefan. Be sensitive on Elena though if you come, her parents died last year in a car crash. And don't try to hit on Stefan, he only likes Elena." She put emphasis on the, only, as if she had personal experience, she probably did.

"I'll show, I just need to get ready and get some things done first. I guess I'll see you later." I said quickly before shutting the door without an answer from the busty blonde outside.
