A Change

Jack's POV

I walked home with my head down the whole time. My hoodie was up as I opened the door. Anna greeted me like always, Eric always gave me a hug, and Elina offered cookies.

I quickly hugged Eric, took a cookie or two, and then ran to Elsa's room. Inside her room, I heard sobs as Anna's voice was inside as well. "He's just a jerk Elsa." Anna said.

I knocked on the door munching on my cookies. Anna answered with a smile as she let me in. "Hey you ok?" I asked Elsa. She slowly shook her head.

The room was scattered with tissues, ice cream on the bed, and Netflix playing on tv. I can tell they had some girly cries. "What happened?" I asked Elsa with a fake smile. I already knew what happened anyway.

"Zeke cheated on me.." Elsa replied then bursted into tears again. Anna handed her tissues. "What? Why would he?" I asked her. "Maybe I'm not good enough for him." Elsa replied as she wiped the tears.

"You are good enough for him Elsa." I said kneeling down and patting her back. Elsa shook her head as Anna handed Elsa some ice cream. "Here. This will help." Anna said.

Elsa took the ice cream and ate it crying. I bit my lip. I couldn't stand to see my best friend like this. I grabbed my phone as I set it down on the table. "I'll be right back." I said then left for the bathroom.

Elsa's POV

I grabbed more tissues as I quickly ate my chocolate ice cream. "I'll be right back." Jack said setting his phone down on the table then left.

I watched a few minutes of my favorite show when a buzz screamed out. "It's Jack's phone." Anna pointed out. "I'll get it." I said standing up and grabbing the phone.

It was Hiccup. I answered the call as Hiccup quickly spoke.

"Jack! Are you happy that you made Zeke and Elsa break up?! I hope you are. It is your idea anyway. Plus Punzie is handling this pretty badly, you should come and help me cheer her up. Anyways, how's Elsa handling this? Pretty badly right?" Hiccup said without stopping for a breath.

I gasped as the door bursted open. Jack was standing there looking at me. His phone was right up my ear as Hiccup kept repeating himself.

"You.." I said pointing his phone at him. "Elsa, I can explain this." Jack said reaching for his phone. "You did this! Why Jack?!" I yelled out.

Jack froze there just not knowing what to say. "I had to!" Jack yelled back. "Now give me my phone back!" He yelled again. I looked at him with anger in my eyes.

"You want it back? Here." I said throwing the phone at the wall. I watched as it broke into a million pieces. Jack looked at me then at his phone.

"What the heck?!" Jack yelled at me. "You deserve it you monster!" I yelled with all my voice. Jack was just shocked I just called him a monster. "I'm the monster? You're a freak for breaking my phone!" Jack yelled back.

"Guys just stop!" Anna said trying to break us. "Shut up!" We both yelled at Anna. "You know what Jack? I can't have a jerk say at my house. Get out." I said pointing to the door.

"Fine by me!" Jack yelled heading out the door. I turned away from the door with my arms crossed. "Take your sister." I said quietly. "I am." Jack said with a rough voice.

Jack's POV

I can't believe my phone got broken. I ran to my room, packed up the small amount of clothes I had, and then ran to Emma's room. She was inside playing with her dolls. "We're leaving." I said standing by the doorway.

Emma stood up with her two dolls in her hands. "Why?" She asked me. "Just pack up Emma." I said walking into her room. Emma got her small, pink suitcase and started to pack.

I got her clothes in the suitcase, but Emma tried to fit her two dolls. They couldn't fit. "We're going to have to leave them behind Emma." I said looking at the dolls. Emma looked at her two dolls and hugged them.

"Bye Miss Penny and Miss Jenny." Emma said then placed the dolls on the bed. I got Emma's small, stitched up blanket that mom made her. I threw it around my shoulder. "Where are we going?" Emma asked me.

"I don't know." I said. We both walked out the door, went down the stairs, and then reached the door. "Take some food children." Elina said handing us some sandwiches.

"Elina! Don't hand them food." Elsa yelled from the living room. Elina quickly nodded and walked away with the sandwiches. I held Emma's hand as we went outside.

It was chilly, plus it was snowing. "Jack, I'm cold." Emma said shivering. I placed her small blanket around her. "There." I said.

We walked to the park as we sat under an Apple tree. I picked two and handed one to Emma. "Here. If you're hungry eat this." I said pointing to the Apple.

Emma took a bite as soon as I gave her the Apple. I wiped my Apple and placed it in my pocket. "Where are we going to live Jack?" Emma asked me. "I don't know." I answered.

Let's see, Hiccup's house has a dog which Emma's scared of. Rapunzel has a horrible mother which I don't want Emma to be near. Uncle North lives two states away. We are not prepared to walk that far.

Our dad is an addict to drugs so no way. Hmm, where can we stay? "Em, we're going to be in a motel." I said smiling. Emma smiled as she jumped up and down happily.

We walked to a cheap, smelly motel. I had a small amount of money in my pocket that could only last us a week. "Yes sir?" The man said. "Can we stay?" I said getting my money. "Yes, it'll be twenty dollars." The man said.

Uh oh..I only have ten. "I only have ten..Can I do some work to make the cash up?" I asked the man. Emma clutched my hand tightly.

"Well, we could use that kind of help. You'll be working the whole day." The man said getting his hand out. "How about the food?" I asked. "That'll be ready for you." He answered.

I shook his hand as he shook mine. "Alright."

He handed me my keys. 310. Me and Emma walked to our room, pasting a few weird people on the way. I pushed the key in as we opened the door. It wasn't bad, but it was dirty.

The floor had some stains, the bed was a bit oily, the wallpaper had been ripped off, the tv had static as a small cockroach climbed out of the hole.

"I don't like this place Jack." Emma said. "It's not so bad." I said stepping my foot into the room. The floor was soft. And mushy.

I got the bed together as I laid Emma's blanket on it. "We'll sleep on this." I said pointing to Emma's blanket.

I laid my jacket and sweater as pillows. Now for blankets. I searched the room for a heater. No heater to be found. I took my oversized shirt off and placed it over Emma.

"Good night sis." I said kissing her forehead. I laid next to her with a small amount of my shirt on my body. It was mostly on Emma. "Good night Jack." Emma said then fell asleep.
