Sans kept trudging through the little bit of forest that was between Snowdin and Waterfall.
After he decided to look for that strange noise outside, it had just been getting louder and louder, until all he could hear were the strange winds and whispers in his skull.
If this situation was anywhere near normal, Sans would at least have a splitting headache and probably turned back by now.
But there was something mesmerizing about the noise. As if drawing him in.
Like a siren. Beautiful but deadly.
If Sans was in his right mind, he also would have noticed the wind speed picking up and how fast snow was building up the ground. Everything around him becoming a vast white nothingness.
But he didn't care. He couldn't care. All he needed was the mesmerizing sounds. Almost like music.
He kept walking.
And walking.
And walking.
And finally he was rewarded.
So many flowers. So so many flowers.
All cycling through color changes of blue, red, and purple. They had a glow like echo flowers. They were so pretty.
They were the only thing he could focus on.
And not how they seemed to be the center and cause of all the ugly purple vines that consumed and killed everything in their path.
He didn't notice that the ugly purple vines were creeping towards him to make sure he didn't run.
He didn't notice when they finally latched on and rooted him there.
(Pun not intended, but I don't regret it.)
He didn't notice the strange purple and red mist encompassing him.
He didn't notice how he breathed it in and it flowed out of his ribcage, sockets, and mouth.
All he saw were the flowers that seemed to be whispering to him. Telling him everything was fine. That he shouldn't be scared when he should.
And then he looked down and noticed he was being suffocated by the mist. Noticed the vines digging into his bones so that he couldn't run.
He looked back up at the flowers. They were red now. And only red. A violent blood red.
He wanted to scream, but it was too late.
Maybe if he had been aware, he would have noticed how the flowers were drawing him in like prey.
But it was too late.
And he blacked out in the violent snowstorm.

Toriel and Grillby made their way back to the park.
Toriel had called everyone and told them to meet up again at the park after she turned up with no Sans.
They were going to discuss their next actions and places they should look since no one found Sans.
They walked in silence until they were at their destination.
Undyne, Alphys, and Papyrus were there, but none talking. They could feel the tension in the air. Like they could cut through it with a knife.
Toriel grabbed their attention by clearing her throat.
"We must decide our next course of action." She spoke with authority.
"What are our options?" Undyne questioned, crossing her arms.
"I am considering assembling a small search party."
The adults talked and Frisk drowned them out, formulating their own plan, until they hear a whisper beside them.
"Hey Frisky," Chara called with grin.
They picked a hand up to sign so no one would know they were talking to someone.
'what is it?'
"I think I know where that sack of potatoes is." They stated.
Frisk muted a snort at their nickname for Sans.
'Where?'
They crossed their semi-transparent arms.
"Bet you a slice of pie that he's in the Underground."
Frisk put a finger to their chin. T̶h̶e̶y̶ w̶e̶r̶e̶ w̶o̶r̶r̶i̶e̶d̶ a̶b̶o̶u̶t̶ S̶a̶n̶s̶, b̶u̶t̶ w̶a̶s̶ h̶e̶ w̶o̶r̶t̶h̶ a̶ w̶h̶o̶l̶e̶ s̶l̶i̶c̶e̶ o̶f̶ p̶i̶e̶? It was worth a shot.
With a plan in mind they tugged on Toriel's sleeve.
She turned to look down at Frisk.
"What is it, my child?" She said softly but with an urgent undertone.
"I think I know where Sans is." They said loud enough for everyone to hear.
"WHERE?" Papyrus said with a spark of hope in his eyes.
"He's in Snowdin." They said matter-of-factly.
Toriel gave them an confused but trusting look. Frisk always seemed to know things they didn't. After a few times where Frisk practically predicted the future, she made sure to keep in mind and trust what they say. Sometimes their predictions and premonitions confused her and she questioned them about it once. Their response was, "A little birdy told me." She questioned them no more.
"Are you sure, my child?"
They nodded.
"OKAY LET'S GO TO SNOWDIN. WHO'S DRIVING?"
"I-I can't r-reach the p-pedals in Toriel's van." Alphys admitted.
"Then I'll drive!" Undyne exclaimed!
"No. Why are we discussing this? I am driving." Toriel said in confusion.
"Because Papyrus asked." Everyone else but Papyrus and Toriel said in unison.
Toriel squinted at them all before grabbing her keys out of her fanny pack.
"Okay. Let's go."
"WAIT! SHOULDN'T WE PACK SUPPLIES OR SOMETHING?" Papyrus asked.
Toriel's eyes widened. Where was her mind today? If course they should pack. And she was about to just go to the mountain unprepared!
"Oh my, of course Papyrus. Everyone, go back to your homes and pack needed items." Should put an emphasis on needed looked at them. They did not need anime or spaghetti twirler forks. "Everyone meets back up at this spot in an hour. Now go." She finished and drove back to her house to do her own preparing. She had a mission and she would succeed.
They were going to find sans.
