1956
I was slowly opening my eyes, trying to adjust to the brightness in the bright room. l thought l was being awakened in the sun, but as my eyes adjusted, l saw this little bowl that held the sun in it's grasp. It was too bright. ln my state, l am very vulnerable to the light. l could easily burn up like a vampire, so l covered my face with my arms and screamed.
Then l felt these gentle hands grab my arms and slowly pulled them away from my face. And as l looked into her eyes, she had the same eye colors as l did. Then l realized who she was. "Dominica." l said in a soft voice. She then drew a smile as bright as the sun itself. l was so delighted to see her, that l completely forgot about the conversation l had with Alex.
"Hello Marcus," she said in a soft voice. Her voice was so soft and delicate when she had said those two words. Dominica's voice is strong yet soft. Loud and proud, but also delicate and sweet. Her hair is long, black, and silky. Her face is young and beautiful, like a young woman.
l tried to get up, but l was weak. l couldn't even sit myself up to just take a look around. Dominica slowly pulled me up from my coffin and sat me up. And as l sat up, l saw so many people surrounding my coffin. They smelled both of vampire and werewolf, they were all hybrids to my surprise. l couldn't believe how many there were. It looked like there were close to about 10,000 at the most. I looked at Dominica and she looked away from me grinning with amusement. I could understand that this was a welcoming present. Then all at once they yelled "HAIL KING MARCUS!!" I bowed my head for respect, or at least as much as I could. There was a mirror to my right and as I looked into it, I saw my face. Damn did l look old. I was surprised at what 250 years without blood could do to you. I look like a 200 year old man when l was supposed to look like 21.
"When will the horses be ready?" I said.
"There will be no need for horses my lord"
"What do you mean?" I was still dizzy from hibernating. I still couldn't figure out what she was talking about.
"There is a new invention that was made a hundred years after you rested. The invention is called an automobile."
I had that questionable look on my face. I could not understand what she was saying, but I saw the invention for myself. "It is an invention that can move without horses, and run on oil and gasoline."
"What is this... gasoline?"
"Gasoline is a flammable liquid mixture of hydrocarbons, obtained from petroleum."
I couldn't understand what she was saying, but I just gave up on the subject.
"I see. Is the sun out?'
"No my lord."
"Then carry me to this vehicle and let us head to my kingdom."
Dominica started carrying me since I haven't the strength to stand on my own two feet. It was an odd shaped vehicle once we came outside. It looked no different than a carriage being pulled by a horse. The only difference was that it was smaller and longer. As I went into this vehicle, I heard a noise that sounded like a large growl. I was on my guard when I heard that sound. I snapped my fingers at my guards to protect me. But then l realized it was the so called car, so l called them off. She chuckled as she was putting me gently in the car. I just ignored her and relaxed when I entered the vehicle. As soon as I got in, there was a woman sitting across from me. And boy did she look delicious. She was scared of course, but not for long. I lunged forward and sunk my canine jaws deep in her throat, drinking every last bit of blood there was in that woman. The sweet blood that flowed down my throat caused me to get stronger and stronger by the second, and I slowly became younger.
It took about 3 hours to arrive at my kingdom. It was just as magnificent the way I left it before I fell asleep. I was finally home after 2 centuries. The castle looked like it was newly painted, the road was covered by this hard marble which Dominica said it was called cement. The gates never rusted, and the smell of roses and tulips roamed the air. I knew I was home, but something felt different. As soon as I walked to the door with the help of my beloved, but I couldn't help but feel aggravated.
When the doors opened I could smell the scent of dead bodies, and it smelled ever greater as I approached my throne room. With every step I took, the stench was getting worse, but I could hear voices. Voices that sounded familiar to my ears. My guards opened the doors for me. I could stand, but could barely walk. As I looked around my throne room, I could see the vampire council sitting in the assigned seats I gave them 2 millennia ago (I tend to be a perfectionist)
