The next morning, Emily woke up, reaching for Raindrop. Then, she remembered that it was at the train station. Emily got ready and drove back to work an hour early to look for Raindrop. However, she couldn't find the stuffed monkey anywhere. The first train of the morning wasn't announced over the intercom because Emily was stressing over Raindrop. 47 people, 6 more than Monday, missed the train. 64 more people didn't reach their trains for the rest of the day, 30 in the afternoon, and 34 in the evening. Bobby asked to talk to her, but Emily just wanted to go home. After waking up, Emily was in too much distress because of her stuffed animal that she called the police. She was sobbing, and the man on the phone couldn't understand her. Then, he told her that there was a sudden, high-speed robbery, and he had to hang up. Emily debated on going to work that day, but she eventually decided to go.
Upon arriving, Bobby Griffin pulled her aside. She had made a total of 144 people miss their train. Bobby wanted to know what was going on with her. Emily explained how she lost Raindrop and also how important the monkey was to her. Mr. Griffin told Emily that he would help her in her search. He asked if she wanted to quit, a break, or a higher salary. Emily refused, but the thought of a higher salary was pleasing. She wanted to earn money the right way, and she didn't want anyone feeling sorry for her. He told her that it has been one year already, and she should get over it. Later that day, Bobby and Emily look for Raindrop, but again, they couldn't find it. Emily was distraught. She persevered and spent the next month focusing on herself. She forgot about Raindrop and did her best to stay calm.
2 Months Later
As a reward for staying happy and upbeat for the last 2 months, Bobby gifted Emily a new computer. Emily thanked Bobby so many times, she almost lost her voice. She rushed to her desk to set it up. Bobby offered her his help, but she refused. She ducked under her desk to plug it in the socket. She got up, but just then saw Raindrop lying in a crevice under her desk. Emily grabbed it, grinning. She was ecstatic. Emily raced to Bobby, yelling, "I found Raindrop!"He opened the door, confused. "What did you say?""I said, 'I found Raindrop!' You know, the stuffed monkey that I have been looking for?" Emily replied.
Bobby congratulated Emily. She then walked back to her office. She looked around the room. She had filled up with pictures of her family. She decided to take them all down. However, she left one up. It was a recent photo of her entire family. She didn't want to forget them, but she wanted to move on with her life. From then on, Emily never missed a day of work. She continued to stay happy and began to let the tragedies of her family go.
