Only after maybe about twenty minutes of blindly trudging through the forest looking for the small tiger cub would Jungkook admit that maybe..

Just maybe.

He made a bad judgement call.

For many reasons honestly. Like the fact that he wasn't a hunter and was in no way familiar with any parts of the forest nor finding his way through it. Not to mention finding his way back.

Maybe it was the fact that the cub could see perfectly in the darkness and no matter how wide he opened his eyes, he couldn't. Curse his stupid human eyes. The gods made them large enough for him to get bullied, but not practical.

Or maybe he never even thought about what he would do if he even found the cub again. It's not like he could take it home with him.

And the thought had never even occurred to him what he'd do if he didn't run into the cub again, but the mother. Full grown, angry and probably interested to know why Jungkook smelled like her missing baby.

Just his luck, right? Eaten for doing a good deed.

Jungkook was just about ready to give up, turn around and try and stumble his way into finding the border of the forest once again until he happened upon a stream.

He didn't think that there was any water running through this labyrinth and definitely didn't heard any rushing water close by as he was traveling. The stream wasn't very wide, but large enough where it couldn't be crossed without a bridge of some kind.

However either there wasn't one to be found or it was further downstream.

Jungkook who was extremely done with his overall surroundings, somehow found himself distractedly looking down into the clear water.

Looking at the rocks, small fish and glittering sand just beneath the surface did wonders to calm him for just a moment. As he stared he saw his reflection as well as the moon's, brilliant and beautiful as ever.

Jungkook couldn't help but be momentarily thankful for it's light aiding him on his fruitless venture. He couldn't imagine how he'd have made it this far through the forest without it, much less try and find some cub that was clearly trying to get away from~ " maaorrao".

The cry that interrupted Jungkook's thoughts brought his gaze away from the creek's surface and across the water to none other then the cub in question. Sitting calmly, probably wondering what had taken him so long.

"How did-" His answer was immediately answered when he looked around and saw a couple of smooth circular river stones that formed a path across the stream to the other side.

Strange. It may have been brief but he was sure that he looked around for a bridge across and never saw those stones before.

Regardless, Jungkook followed the direction of the stream to the river stone path. Keeping his balance as his toes stepped carefully onto the first stone cooled by the night air. He looked up from his feet to the cub who had just been staring at him as he got his footing.

"Now, you stay there. " Jungkook warned in vain as he watched the striped cub disappear into the bush behind where it had just sat.

Jungkook's head instantly shot back in anguish. "Gods." He hurried along the path, stepping lightly until he arrived at the moss covered ground of the other side. He ventures just past more low hanging vines and bushes, hoping the cub didn't go much farther in such a short time.

"Alright." he breathes out, feeling the beginnings of his fatigue settling into his bones as he clears the last of his path. "No more hide and se-"
