The next time Taehyung sees Jungkook, he's under his weeping tree playing with Tannie.
He watches him from a distance. Smiling brightly as he holds a flowering branch over the pawing cub's head. Taehyung finds himself smiling too.
But as promised, he steels himself and calls the boy over. "Jungkook-ah."
He has the boy's attention for a moment.
"Walk with me?"
"So what's this about?" Jungkook asks as they walk into the forest and further away from the temple. Silently enjoying the noises that come from the nearby cicadas and the rushing stream in the distance.
"I wanted to show you my flowers." Taehyung said simply.
The younger paused at that. Visibly wanting to laugh, but stifling himself out of politeness.
"Um.. I don't want to disappoint you, but I think I've seen a fair share of your flowers." He gestures behind them and Taehyung smiles at that.
"True. You've been here every night and seen almost every flower that grows here." he pauses their uniform steps before he continues. "But you haven't seen my flowers."
Jungkook doesn't answer as Taehyung smiles at him, but he takes his word for it and they start walking again.
They travel deeper into the forest, but it isn't long before Jungkook spots a glass house in the distance. Beautiful like a crystal and positively covered in plant life. Jungkook looks to Taehyung for confirmation and receives another handsome smile in return
They enter the greenhouse and see it filled with roses of every color, white and yellow jonquils, dark violet petunias and countless others draping nearly every surface. All of them covered in dew and practically glittering under the moonlight. Jungkook marvels wide eyed and speechless at his surroundings. Taehyung watches him, eyes warm before he offers his hand.
Jungkook blushes before he takes it and they travel to the back entrance together.
Ducking under a door frame covered in drooping mistletoe, they enter an open area that's surrounded by stone columns. All engraved with ruins and letters that Jungkook can't readily identify.
Around all of the columns are healthy growing vines that sprout the prettiest blossoms he's ever seen. Soft white and glowing under natural light more than the fireflies that float past them. All while their scent permeates the air with a soft clean fragrance, Jungkook slowly leaves Taehyung's hold to awe at the ethereal beauty of them all.
Upon closer inspection Jungkook sees that the petals aren't actually completely white, but stained with lighter tones of red and blue on the outer corners.
They're beautiful of course, but somehow, something about them makes his blood run a tad colder.
"What are these?"
"Smeraldo is the name I gave them for now." Taehyung answers, walking over to where Jungkook stands frozen.
"And you grew these?" He asks, gently touching the petals. "I did. Took awhile, but I think they came out really well."
"Tae?"
"Yes, Jungkookie."
"Where else would I be able to find these plants?", he doesn't mean to make it as serious as it sounds, but he's curious.
"Nowhere." he hears from over his shoulder. "I grew these as the first of their kind, so no one should be able to see them anywhere else."
"Really?" he retorts, eyes still focused on the multicolored blossom. "Cause they look..so..."
