Hey! It's Lukas, and this is my story on how I came out to my family.

The first person I came out to was my sibling, who's actually non-binary.

I was messaging them on Discord one day and asked "Hey, how do you come out to your parents saying you wanna be a guy?" Their response was: "With words usually."

They didn't even comment on it-

But I told them to call me Lukas and to refer to me with he/him pronouns.

They already knew I liked guys since I'm dating a guy already. So they were the easiest to come out to.

The next person I came out to was my brother. Now, my brother isn't very educated on the LGBTQ+ community and didn't exactly know what transgender was.

So, what I did was make a little transgender flag out of beads. I threw it onto his desk and said to him, "I'm a guy."

He just responded "okay."

Next, I came out to my mom.

Now, my coming out to my mom was...much different than how I came out to my sibling and brother.

When I came out, I was at a really low point in my life. All my friends were fighting, my boyfriend had no time for me, and I felt really alone.

This was about a week after I had cut myself. I hid my cuts with gloves or long sleeved shirts.

Okay, so, one night, I woke up at 1 am. I decided to go downstairs and get on my computer to talk to my boyfriend since it was 4 pm for him.

My mom, however, was also awake.

She got extremely worried about me, and shut my laptop in front of me. She asked why I was up so early. I told her I was having a lot of anxiety and needed to talk to my "friend" to calm me down.

She then dragged me onto the couch and told her to open up. And so, I did.

I cried in her arms, telling her everything. I even rolled up my sleeves and showed my scars.

I told her. "I think I'm a boy too." And she said she accepted me, and asked what my name and pronouns were.

After this emotional moment, we decided to watch the first Harry Potter film since I never saw it. She fell asleep half way through it and continued to talk to my boyfriend.

Now... hehe, it took me about 2 weeks to finally tell my dad. I knew my dad would be supportive, it just took me awhile to figure out how I wanted to come out.

One night, my sibling came over and played board games with my mom, my dad, and my brother. Not me, of course, since I didn't want to.

So I came downstairs to them laughing and being loud, so I decided to walk into the dining room, tell them to shut up and said "Listen, I'm a guy and my name is Lukas. Doesn't mean I like loud noises."

My dad said okay and they continued to play their game.

And that's how I came out to my family.

Well, see you later, I suppose. If you ever wanna talk, message me on my personal account: Lukas_Forcast
