Also a very happy birthday to  radioactive_rae

Zee brushed the strands of her hair out of her face, looking in the mirror as she popped on a darker color on her lips. It was a new lipstick, one she had been saving up for. One she had been waiting to use for a special occasion - and today was a special occasion. She grinned brightly, showcasing her white teeth in the mirror before she took a step back and smiled broadly.

"Zoe, they're at the door!" Brody called from the kitchen in her apartment. It was weird for Zee, even when Clementine lived with her, it never felt the way it did with Brody. In Zee's mind, she'd been living alone for years, but having Brody with her was welcome company. Living with Brody felt natural, like they always were supposed to be together. She felt less alone.

Yeah, she had her cat, but poor Fishie was getting old and though she wouldn't admit it to anyone else yet - Zee knew his time was near.

The first night Brody had stayed over, they'd expected to have non stop sex throughout the night, but instead had a conversation. They'd talked about everything and really gotten to know each other. It didn't feel forced or fake it felt so natural that Zee had almost immediately decided she wanted Brody to live with her.

She'd really fallen hard for this girl. Really fallen hard.

Zee ran her hands down her sides to flatten out the one piece she was wearing - a dark, lacey overall, somewhat see through, before walking into the kitchen. She kissed Brody's cheek before heading to the front door.

"You're sweet." Brody grinned as she put decorative flowers on to the muffins she had made. Zee grinned as she began to unlatch the door and open it.

"So are you, Brody bear." She said, opening the door and widening her arms for a hug.

"I feel like I haven't seen you in days!" Zee exclaimed as she wrapped her arms around Clementine and pulled her in for a hug. The first thing that Clementine noticed was the mannerisms.

Zee wasn't being handsy.

Oh no, they're breaking up, she thought to herself as she sheepishly pulled out of the hug. Zee then took Violet's hand and shook it, you know, like a normal human being. As she closed the door, Clementine and Violet looked at each other unsurely.

"Brody has been working very hard on these cupcakes and I expect you both to eat them. She was planning to bake a cake but uh, we got a little... uh, something came up. But anyway! Enjoy these!" Zee grinned, taking two of the cupcakes and giving them to the girls who took them as they sat down.

Soon after, Brody sat down beside Zee and they both grinned at each other as the taller girl took the auburn haired girls hand in her own and rubbed her knuckles with her thumb.

"So we have to tell you something."

"We guessed," Clementine said with a frown as she tasted the icing, "Are you guys breaking up? You're not acting like it..." She said in a confused manner when she recognized a smile on her friend's face, one she hadn't seen in a long time.

"Quite the opposite." Zee grinned, holding Brody's hand up. "We're actually getting married. Today."

Violet stopped, looking at her friend and then her girlfriend. When Clementine returned the look, Violet simply took a bite of her cupcake and sunk into the chair. "I'm not getting involved."
