Silverkit woke up in the middle of the night. She hated when this happened! Well, I have to at least try to fall asleep again, she thought angrily. Why was it always her? She'd become the most drowsy cat ever, and she could not become an apprentice that way. She looked around to see if anyone turned out to be up. Nope. Talonkit, Snowkit, Goldenkit, Whitekit, Blackkit, Starshine, and Angelfall were all asleep.

"This is boring." she mumbled softly. She wanted to do something, but being a kit, she really couldn't. Why can't I just be a warrior? I want it so badly... Why... She drifted off into a sleep, where she dreamed.

Her dream was completely black. Until a figure appeared, shining like the one and only star in a moonless night. Who was this cat? The figure was walking toward her, looking relaxed. Soon Silverkit could see facial features. Orange fur, white underbelly... Amber eyes. He looked like he was a boy version of Angelfall...Was he related to her?

Soon more cats appeared behing him, but they were all muddy and they had fear in their eyes. Eagles swooped down upon them in hordes. Silverkit knew eagles never came that often and that big in numbers in the forest. Did these mysterious cats live somewhere else? If so, why were they showing themselves to someone like her? Did they need something from her? What did she have?

The cat leading them touched noses with Silverkit. "Do not worry, I am a friend. I am your kin." Although the words were kind, they sounded sharp and harsh to Silverkit. It sounded like a scream of pain. He tensed, as if he sensed Silverkit's emotions. "Tell your mother," he mewed, but Silverkit just heard a painful cry. "I'm sorry. Will you do that for me?" The tom's voice sounded like a pleading whisper now.

"Who are you?" Silverkit asked. The tom bowed his head.

"I am Teller of Pointed Stones. My most trustworthy cave guard is here. His name is Mountain where Wild Beasts Run, or Mountain. You shall call me Flameheart, though. I was named after Firestar because of my similarity to him. But enough about that..." His eyes were a bit sad.

"Are you a warrior? Teller of Pointed Stones does not sound like a warrior name... And neither does Mountain. Flameheart sounds more like it.." Silverkit trailed off. She was tired of being confused. "I want answers." she demanded. Flameheart took a deep breath.

"I am your mother's brother. I wanted to be part of the Tribe of Rushing Water, so I left ThunderClan to learn the ways of the Tribe. As I grew, I became the new leader and healer, also known as Teller of Pointed Stones." Flameheart's eyes clouded. "Your mother is probably devastated and thinks I'm dead. I need you to tell her I am sorry and that I am alive and well. That is why I have come to you."

Why me? Silverkit wondered. "Um... Angelfall hasn't ever really mentioned a brother-"

"If you were in Angelfall's position, would you want to talk about it?" Silverkit blushed. She hadn't thought about that before. She hadn't thought that Angelfall was having a hard time. She was hiding it really well. "Now..." His voice sounded like a screech again. "Farewell."
