Chapter 22 :" A Blind Date"

Two days Later..

              Laksh Maheshwari had no intention of going on a date but desperate time calls for desperate measures. And the fact it had been his wife who arranged the said date spoke volume about it.  The reason he was on a date had to do with the fact Abirami Shukla proved to be more elusive than the rest of her sisters and since he had been tasked with meeting her, he had to be the one who signed up for the date as well.

             " Why cant Adharsh do it.. he is single or Pradeep for that matter" he spoke up when his wife found out about Abirami online dating profile and pradeep had been ruled out because if Abirami was Miss x then she wouldnt confide in an police office and Adharsh had been out of town making it impossible for Laksh to say No .

         " You must be the only wife in the world who gets excited about sending her husband to a date" he said an hour before as he left his wife , but he understood her reasons. He wont relent on letting her stay with him until they find her and she didnt want to leave him and go either. So it was important that they find her soon and his wife was willing to let him charm someone else for it.

      Now that he reached the predecided date place, he was waiting for her to make an appearance. She had been married once before so it didnt make sense for her to be obsessed with his cousin but they have decided not to ignore any of them. Then he saw her as she made her way towards him. 

   " This is awkward. " She spoke up as soon as she saw him and he didnt understand the reason behind it until she explained that she went to his wedding with her ex husband. Of course the fact she attended his wedding could be awkward but also prove that she was part of his wedding guests which could mean she had access to kidnap Swara the night before which meant she very well could be Miss X.

" You got divorced recently as well ?" he asked thinking if she was still married by the time he married Ragini then she couldnt very well be Miss X who had been obsessed with her brother.

" No, we have been divorced for few years but we are friends who stay in touch " she answered back eliminating his earlier assumption, since it was blind date he cant very well ask more about her ex husband so kept the conversation about her and hardly could find anything suspicious until she got a call from someone and her face lost its color.

" Sorry i have to go" She answered back once the call ended, since Laksh wanted to find more about her, he offered her a ride as she had no ride of her own. The short ride ended back in the college she worked and he felt foolish for being suspicous as he imagined it must be some work place crisis rather than some nefarious reason.

    He was about to leave and drive back until he saw the police jeep parked inside the college campus which raised his suspicious meter again as he went inside to investigate.  

         And as he followed Abirami ,he realized she walked straight in to the office and he was left with no option but to wait outside the room in hopes of finding something and his option came in the form of a police constable who waited near him. Laksh asked him the questions and found the reason for Abirami sudden departure.

   " So we got nothing about Abirami as well except she is a good sister who went to her youngest rescue after a phone call and we got nothing about Anjali as well except she may or may not have tried to steal question papers from the college campus " Ragini spoke up once her husband came back after his date to relay the information on what happened today.
