Chapter 4 : " Distrust "

                    Pradeep Roy had seen several crimes and the convicts in the 7 years he worked in the police force.  Each case he closed left him satisfied when   the victims family thanked him for apprehending the monsters 
 

            Yet he was haunted by three cases , two of them because he apprehended the convicts .Because in spite of their actions  , he could understand their motive .

     The first one was when he arrested a  father who killed the person who violated his daughter.  The other one a accidental death during a fight between siblings. While the latter case was trialed under manslaughter and the  convict got a lesser sentence it still haunted him ,the look on the convict face that was deprived of  all hope of future because of the guilt . 

             And the last  one had been the unsolved case of Sakshi Sanskar Maheshwari, he never could look into her husband eyes when he told him ,he couldn't find the person who murdered his wife.  Yet in all the time he never expected to meet the said person again in such an unexpected circumstance after two years .

              " So you are saying the person who killed your wife ,pretended to have memory loss that she even convinced the doctors about it.  Set a plan in motion that led her to be in the exact same place as you when she fell of the cliff ,so you can rescue her .

          Now she is living in your house because she expected after how you lived for the last two years, you would take a stranger into your house. " Pradeep knew each of his words irked the person before him but all the years of trying to view a crime without a emotional attachment led him to realize when a man had made a error of judgement. 

            " You are not even going to check if it possible but rather sit here and deny it " Arjun voice held a steel of determination.   He hated the man before him for being logical and make him distrust his preconceived belief that Pari murdered his wife. 

         " I didn't say that ,let go and check your guest whom you have left alone with your dida and Asha ,how could you do it if you believed her capable of killing your wife " Pradeep  voice  reasoned again and Arjun lost his cool because the fact even if he thought pari was  behind Sakshi murder , his stupid  heart trusted her with Asha .

              As they drove back to his home, his mind held on to the last five minutes of the events that transpired in his home. 

             He left her locked  in her room without a word as he raced to the police station after warning dida and Asha to never open the door ,he acted in hysteria and panic to find the person who murdered his wife was in his house. 

              Now driving back, his mind pondered on Pradeep logic and reasoning and it made him furious for not being able to trust her and unable to see her as a murderer either .

            As he got down from the car ,he walked inside his house  to see a crying  dida and his daughter was nowhere around. Which made him panic until she turned and glared at him furiously

         " If you think the girl in there would harm a fly much less my granddaughter.  You are a biggest fool Sanskar " Dida spoke up and marched into Asha room where he found his daughter  asleep. 

       Only then Arjun turned around to face Pradeep who was waiting patiently to be introduced to Pari even when he refuses to believe she had anything to with Sakshi murder.
