Looks like this stays all 9 which is easier on me :) The Toma's will be around in the story. I already had them in as T.A's and coaches so they will stay that way unless someone goes rogue.

I struggled to keep up with Victor's longer strides. We weren't running exactly; okay Victor wasn't but I was. I didn't mind running...in my gym shoes or my cleats, not my school shoes. Thinking of running reminded me I hadn't been for my run yet today and no this mad dash through an airport didn't count. I wonder if the school had a gym or track, I could use. I preferred to run outside when I could. My games were all played outside so learning to run and balance on uneven natural surfaces was a lot more helpful than doing my run on a treadmill.

"Victor can we slow down a little I can't run in these shoes." I pulled on his hand to try and get his attention. It wasn't entirely my fault we spent so much time in the tunnel. I loved it down there, the lights and movement were entrancing. I now had 'Rhapsody in Blue' stuck in my head. My fingers itched for my violin. I hummed a few bars under my breath just to get it out.

"I'm sorry Sang. I forgot you had stubby legs. Come here we can slow down a little, but we need to keep moving." Victor pulled me into his side for a quick hug before starting to walk again, this time slow enough that I could keep up but still at a good pace. We made our way quickly down the concourse heading towards the arrivals gate in terminal three. I didn't get to see much of anything as we went and hoped we could explore a little after we met Victor's friends. Thinking of his friends made me nervous again. I tried to review what I knew of the proper way to greet a friend of a friend who was older than me in each language. I had the bow that was fairly easy. Deeper than a nod but not touching my knees. Both were older than me, seniors to my junior, that changed the dynamics a bit and we weren't friends so formal language. I took a deep breath I could do this and if I messed it up well, I'm just a dumb American.

"Relax, my friends are really great guys. They just need a bit to transition from home to school in their heads. They'll love you. Give Sean a bit and he'll find his flirt. Kota will probably surprise you at how quickly he'll transition from formal to informal. He grew up mostly in the States, while Sean didn't move here until he was fifteen for high school. Cultural shifts take him longer." Victor reassured me. I smiled up at him feeling better.

We arrived at terminal three just as they were scheduled to arrive. That meant we had time to catch our breath. Victor found a place along the wall in sight of the gate and turned me, so I leaned against his chest again. I liked being nestled into him. I felt protected here. The crowds were less likely to run into him than they were me. I relaxed against him and just listened to his heartbeat.

"I like how we fit Sang. Most girls I know are as tall as I am so standing like this is just weird. Now that you are going to school with us, I can use you to keep my stomach warm while I wait on my friends." I tipped my head up to look at him only to find him looking down at me. We both smiled. "I think this school year is going to be a good one, we now have a girl in our group that can save us from going to dances with the scary girls at school."

"Scary girls?" I asked wondering what he meant.

"You know the type; they're at an elite school because their parents want them to marry into a 'good' family. Good being defined by wealth, power and political pull. At the Academy most of the students are from families that have varying levels of those three. Mind you, money and power aren't enough to get in you need to have the grades too, but the admissions are mostly from elite private schools which makes it a prime marriage mart for some families. It goes both ways too. I've seen guys date the girls their families have decided would be an asset in a political career or would make an ideal CEO's wife."
