Chapter 7
Hey, make sure to go reread the end of chapter 6 I changed some parts. Enjoy and happy early Christmas!!!!
Letting Ashton pick out the movie turned out to be the completely wrong idea. He was staring at the screen, his arm loosely slung over my shoulders. I had my head buried into his neck, refusing to look at the screen. It probably would’ve been better if I was watching. The movie was quiet, and I let myself falsely hope that it was over. It wasn’t. Someone screamed on the screen, causing me to jump and scream, ramming the top of my head into Ashton’s forehead.
“Ow!” he screamed, his eyes ripping away from the television. I laid my forehead on his chest, telling myself to take deep breaths. Ashton rubbed his hand up and down my spine, in attempt to calm me.
“Are you okay?” he asks, placing his hand on the side of my face to look at me.
“Yeah,” I nodded,” go back to the movie.” Instead of doing as I said, he picked me up and pulled me into his lap.
“No you aren’t, you’re scared.” He placed his hand on the back of my head and pulled me into his chests.
“I got you,” he murmured into my ear,” I will always protect you.” My heart leaped and I closed my eyes. I wouldn’t let Ashton change the movie, since it was the one he wanted to watch. Somehow I just new he was right, he wouldn’t let anyone or anything hurt me, but what about himself?
Ash drove me home that night, knowing it would not be a good idea to send me off into the dead of night by myself. I was a big girl, old enough to live on my own and support myself. The movie was fake. Nothing was going to get me. I’ll lock the door and everything will be okay. I kept repeating those few reassuring sentences in my head over and over again. I honestly don’t know if I can handle this.
“Ashton?” I said into the phone.
“Baby?” he asks,” why are you calling?”
I glance over at my bedside clock where 3;22 AM shined bright.
“Uhm… I couldn’t sleep?” I try to come up with a lame excuse.
“Shoot, Don’t lie, Arden. You’re scared. I shouldn’t have ever put that movie in.” I can hear him rub his hand over his face and through his hair. I shake my head, to protest, even if he couldn’t see me, but I knew he was right.
“I’m coming over, baby.” He tells me I open my mouth to stop him, but know it was useless, and I really wanted him here. We hung up so he could drive. I got out of bed and out on a sweatshirt, that kind of matched my fuzzy plaid pajama pants. There was a knock on my front door and I clutched the bat that I had brought from home for safety reasons.
“Arden?” Ashton’s voice came from the other side of the door,” let me in, please.”
I unlocked the door, after placing the bat back in its home by the kitchen. Ashton came in, holding a cup of (what looks like) coffee from Starbucks and a couple movies in his other hand. He didn’t say anything when he saw me,, but walked forward and pushed my head in his chest, his arms wrapping around him. He placed a kiss on my forehead. After probably 5 minutes, I pulled away and eyed the books in his hand.
“What are those?” I asked. If he thought he was going to put some wacked up movie like Inception or The Ring in my DVD player he had something else coming for him.
“I brought some old Disney movies, thinking they may help you get your mind off of things.” He shrugs,” and here is a tall white chocolate mocha. I remember you saying you liked them.” I smile as I wrap my hand around the warm cup. I couldn’t help but laugh when I saw the copies of Little Mermaid, Aladdin, and Snow White and the Seven Dwarves in his hand.
“Do you watch those movies often?” I nod towards his hand. He grimaces, but looks as if he expected that question.
“I have a little sister, so I bought a ton of these types of movies for when I had to baby sit her.” He explains, but his answer seems a little rehearsed.
“C’mon. let’s go watch Aladdin,” I tell him, pulling him towards the sofa. I didn’t have a TV nearly as big as Ash, and my couch seemed to be missing a few springs but it worked none the less. My favorite character has always been the genie. Ashton laid his arm around me, and complied with singing all of the songs with me, and if I do say so myself, we make a really sick dou for Whole New World. About halfway through the movie, I leaned against Ashton, my head falling into the crook of his neck. That night I dreamt good dreams, full of magic lamps, dancing monkeys and an amazing boyfriend.
A/N
This chapter was a filler chapter and extremely fluffy. Hope you enjoyed it. I’m sorry it’s been so long since I’ve last posted and that this chapter is not up to where it should be in quality or length. I had wrote 2 pages it then decided to change directions and had to rewrite some of the last chapter and this chapter. Fun (not the sarcasm) times. But on the bright side Christmas is only 4 days away and I’M SO EXCITED!!!!!!! What do you want for Christmas? I really want to know. I asked for a book shelf and a camera.
