Dr.Malfoy's Priority Patient - A dramione story

THIRTY ONE

Draco's POV 

The Patil sisters' cousin had come to pick us up from the train station, the gifts were loaded into a minivan first and Mione and I were escorted by their Cousin Praful, after he had told the,minivan driver to go straight home.  

"So is this the first time you're coming to India?" Prafull asked as we walked towards his car. 

"No, I've been here before, It's Hermione's first time though." I said trying to dodge people as we walked. 

"Is it always this crowded?" Hermione piped in.

"No-No today is one of the calmer days" Praful laughed as he stopped in front of a silver Mercedes. 

Hermione sat in the rear seat, and I sat in the front as Prafull was driving himself, Hermione had her camera out, capturing the city and the local flavour it had to offer. 

"So did you go to Hogwarts too?" I asked,trying to make conversation. 

"No, I went to Dumstrang for a year and then got expelled.... I was in Viktor's batch" Prafull Laughed. 

"Viktor's batch huh!" Hermione joined in

"Love, I'm wounded" I joked - for which I got smacked on my head

"Ouch!" 

"Why did you get expelled?" I asked.

"Well.... I was quite the prankster back in the day- swapped the yogurt with a curry that looks similar once, came up with a charm to make people pass gas all the time, and the final string was when I Polyjuiced into the warden and.... well that was the end of my time there..." He honked when a Cow got in front of his car on the road. "Hah! Cow!! " Gaya Khasedo!" He said flicking his hand towards the cow. 

"That's amazing!... How did you?" Hermione started

"Oh the glitter-ish dust?" Prafull laughed, "Well... as I was saying I got expelled from Dumstrang and couldn't go back in my second year, So I came back to India and went to study at the Delhi School of Magic - later I even went and stayed with a 'Tantric' to study Ancient Indian dark earth magic. The Magic in India is different and is done differently too " 

"Wow!" I remarked 

"Yes, I read -" 

"about this? Yes! Padma and Parvati told me so! Draco - your fiancé is a know it all!" 

"Ah! well I love her more for it!" 

"By the way - let me put on record that I am honoured to have met you, Padma and Parvati have been showing off ever since the battle about being in the same batch as you! Which ever one went with Harry for the Yule ball - ugh! don't even get me started." He rolled his eyes. 

"So I'm guessing it's the first time you're attending an Indian wedding!" 

"Yup - I've heard there are loads of ceremonies..." I mused 

"yes yes - there isn't an end to the ceremonies for a while but the main ones usually last over three to four days - that what you're here for.. So we've got the Haldi, the Mehandi, the Sangeet and The Actual Wedding!" He explained dodging  a jaywalker 

"Mehendi - like the henna tattoos?" Hermione  Asked 

"yes Hermione!" He laughed "Also guys- Let me warn you before hand - the Boys both the girls are marrying are Muggle twins heirs to a textile business  here in Gujarat, they know nothing about magic yet and are really irritating. So just keep the magic on the low here" 

"Oh! I'd heard that Witches in India are really frowned upon - like more than they are around the world otherwise..." hermione mused

"Yes, sadly as big hearted we Indian's are - we can be pretty narrow minded when it comes to certain things" Prafull Sighed "We're here"

We had pulled into the most colourful mansion on the street- the white marble of the house was barely visible under all the flowers and decorations!

"Navavadhūnā gharē āpanuṁ svāgata chē (welcome to the brides' house) " He said as he drove through the gates.

I could swear that I'd counted at least a hundred people in the drive way it's self - some dancing some just standing around - some screaming at the decorations guy. the was going to be hectic - I will have to keep hermione close- at all costs!

Hi Guys! I know it's been a really - really long time- and I APOLOGISE WITH ALL MY HEART!

I have graduated college and am in the middle of a drop year that i took to deal with stuff that went down personally - we had a really tragic loss in our family last year.

And now that we are all under lockdown (the Indian government has taken a wise decision by calling for a nation wide lockdown) I have time to write and catch up on this story! 

I would like to dedicate this chapter to all the Medical professionals out there battling this horrid disease and also to the Sanitation workers and all those people who work in essential services! Thankyou for serving selflessly!!!!!
