Little thing I typed up. Found a prompt generator and got this!

Prompt: Cole falls asleep in Jay's lap and Jay has a conversation with someone else while stroking Cole's hair as if they were a sleeping cat.

***

Jay wasn't quite sure when Cole had hit the hay.

Fortunately for him, he wasn't going to be missing anything quite important in the movie. That was taking into consideration that they had already seen the movie several times before.

It was one of Jay's favorite movies which Cole had allowed to be part of a tradition on the first Friday night of every other month. Something short and cute, comedic and family friendly, but also deeply moving. And although Cole normally preferred musicals or action packed adventure movies (especially murder mysteries), everything was worth it if it meant getting to spend movie nights with Jay.

They would cuddle up on the couch, surrounded by an abundance of pillows with a large, fluffy blanket draped across their laps.

Never, however, had Cole ever fallen asleep during the movie.

But Jay didn't mind.

In fact, it was quite wholesome, actually.

His boyfriend had drifted to sleep with his head on his lap, his soft black hair falling over his eyes.

And Jay? He was casually running his fingers through the silky touch of Cole's hair, as if this was something that happened often. Which, in fact it did, just never on movie nights. Except until now, of course.

A cheeky grin stretched across his face, and he could feel one creeping away on Cole's.

The movie was nearly over, and Jay was struggling with the thought of having to get up to turn off the television. But this was a once in a lifetime opportunity. And Jay wasn't going to pass it up. Not unless Cole had agreed to do it more often.

Twelve minutes later, Jay too had fallen asleep with his head back on the couch and his hand still tangled in Cole's hair.

It wasn't till half an hour later when Kai came into the room to find the TV still on, displaying a static screen and casting a bright light on the two boys who had drifted off to sleep on the couch.
