Around 3:30 am, I give up on getting any sleep and make my first batch of coffee. Work starts at 6 am, so I need to leave at 5 am to get there on time.
Once the coffee machine is done making my coffee, I add in my favorite creamers and add some ice. I can't stand warm coffee; it has to be iced.
Finally taking a sip of my coffee, I put my playlist on shuffle. I plug it in so it can charge. I turn it down and laugh, the first song is 'End Up Here' by 5SOS. I let the boys' voices fill my apartment, only jumping in to fix Ashton's part.
"Call me lucky 'cause in the end
I'm a six and HE'S a ten
he's so fit, I'm insecure
But he keeps coming back for more." I sing, my mind wandering to Ashton. The cong continues playing and then goes on, but Ashton is never far from my mind.
I start to make my second cup of coffee, the time not even reaching 4 am yet. I sigh before going to my closet, where I pick out a business casual outfit. I set down my coffee and slip it on, picking up some black stilettos to set by my door. No way am I going to put those on right now.
I grab my coffee and start making another in a large to-go mug so I can bring it to work. I stopped the music and unplug my phone, sliding it into my pocket.
Despite the fact that it was only 4:30 in the morning, I pulled on my stilettos and started walking to work. It's only a couple blocks away, but living in Chicago meant loads of traffic, which means that when I do drive, I'm stuck behind crappy, tired drivers.
Punching in, I see that I'm a half-hour earlier than normal. I guess I get a bonus today, or I get to leave earlier. Either is fine with me.
I start to plan my show that starts at 6 am, listening to the newest album by 5SOS, CALM. I decide that Lover Of Mine is my favorite, followed by Not In The Same Way.
"Hey guys! Good morning, hope your morning is amazing. I know mine is! So, real talk. Have any of y'all listened to the new album CALM by 5 Seconds Of Summer yet? It's a masterpiece, so up next is Lover Of Mine, my personal favorite song off the album. I switch to the song and take a sip of coffee, enjoying the music that plays over the speakers.
Each radio room has speakers that play whichever song is playing. I jump when I hear a knock on the door, not expecting anyone today.
"Rowan, today you're interviewing two members of 5SOS." My boss, Randy, says. I cringe as he says 5 es oh es instead of 5sauce.
"Ok, when?" I ask, a smile falling over my face.
"Hi, Rowen!" Michael yelled, running over. He gave me a hug, just the perfect amount of pressure.
"Hi guys!" I say, laughing when I see Ashton's face. I had forgotten until this morning that I dyed my hair, and that Ash and Mikey hadn't seen it yet.
"Your hair! It looks so good." Ashton says, and I invite them to sit down.
"Hey guys! What did you think of the song? Today we have a surprise interview with some of the boys, Ashton Irwin and Michael Clifford! Boys, what are your favorite songs off of the album and why?" I question, and they look at each other.
"My favorite is probably Best Years." Michael says, a small smile on his face.
"Mine is Not In The Same Way." Ashton says. "It's about a girl who thinks she loves me, but I just think of her as a friend. She got disappointed and now she won't talk to me." He elaborates.
"Best Years is about a time in Crystal and I's relationship where it wasn't going very smoothly. I wrote her a song, Best Years, and promised her that I would love her and give her the best years of her life when she's with me. It worked, obviously." Michael says, a happy smile on his face.
"That's so adorable!" I squeal, hoping that my future boyfriend is as amazing to me as Michael is to Crystal. "Now, we are going to look at some fan questions. Because apparently, they knew before I did." I joke, glad that I wouldn't have to do this myself.
"First question is from Ashton_Lover_1234 and it says If I ever become a radio host, will you boys visit me?" I look at the boys.
"Maybe, it all depends on the timing." Michael says, and Ashton agrees. Ashton's face holds a light pink and his smile is wide.
"The next question is from Michael_Is_Mine and it asks Michael when is the wedding?" Michael groans and then smiles.
"We don't know when the wedding will be yet, but I can't wait to marry Crystal. She's the girl of my dreams." Michael says, a happy look on his face and his eyes sparkling.
"Awwww, thank you boys for coming! Unfortunately, that is all the time we have left and up next on the show is Callie, talk to you guys tomorrow." Callie steps in to take my place and I wave the boys into my personal office.
