Ruthie Lockwood.

Today is Tuesday. I'm going job hunting. I found a lot of cafés around that needed either a waiter or coffee maker. I'm not a brilliant coffee maker but I am a good waitress. I grabbed a backpack and my phone then head out. I locked the house door and then realized I don't have a ride. I could just take a taxi. If I do remember correctly there must be a bus stop a block from here. So I began walking. I walked past the Cartwright household and spotted Cairo reading a book on porch. But when I looked closer,it wasn't just a book. It had the words The Holy Bible, written on the back. He's reading the Bible? Oh well. He spotted me and waved. I waved back with a smile and continued walking. I made it to the bus stop and waited for a bus. The bus got here and I got in. As we delved more into town I saw many cafés and restaurants and shops. Everyone going about their business but still friendly. This town hasn't lost its touch one bit. Everyone here is friendly and it reminds me of my father. He was always friendly to everyone and loved to go to church. But after my Mom died he gave up on it. He was still friendly but he just didn't go to church anymore. I got down at St Peter's avenue and walked to the first café I spotted. The sign read
Morning Sunshine.
I like it. I entered and the smell of bread and cinnamon greeted me. I spotted a girl looking to be in her late teens behind the counter. She had her hair in a ponytail which reached a little beneath her shoulders. I felt a bit awkward, don't know why. I adjusted my straps and walked up to her. She greeted me with a warm smile.

"Hi, welcome to morning sunshine. How can I help you?" She asked politely.

"Um, I'm looking for a job and I heard that you guys need a waitress?" I asked.

"Oh. Just go there to your right then to your right again. There's a door there with CEO on it. Go there." She said.

"Okay thanks." I thanked her.

"No probs. Hope you get it." She said happily. Huh.

"Hope so too. Thanks again." I said. She nodded and went back to work. I took the path she said and came to the front of the door with CEO on it. I knocked and I heard an ancient female voice say 'come in'. I went in. There was a not too old beautiful lady sitting in a chair behind a desk. There were two chairs in front of the desk. A couch on the left side of the room and a shelf full of books on the other side of the room. The old lady smiled and I closed the door.

"Well hello. May I help you?" She asked politely.

"Well,I just moved here from Arizona and I need a job." I said. I walked to one of the seats and leaned on it. She saw my actions.

"Oh sit. You say you moved here Arizona?" She asked. I nodded.

"Yeah." I replied.

"Okay. Well have you worked in a café before?" She asked carefully.

"No. I haven't." I admitted.

"Okay. Well have you had any experience with cooking or working?" She asked.

"Well yeah, my dad was a good cook and he used to teach a lot but he died." I said.

"I'm sorry. May his soul rest in perfect peace." She said in a concerned voice.

"Thanks." I said.
