Luke

I texted Selena and told her it was happening. Elena was on her way over here and honestly I dreaded every moment of this anticipating wait.

Sel told me she'll text me as soon as she is here.

I hear our doorbell ring and I knew it was her. I open the door and it's Selena. Where's her key?

"Oh I thought you were Elena," I say and her face scrunches up.

"Nope, I just need a shower and I left my key in my gym bag," she says rubbing some sweat off of her face.

"Alright, love. She'll be here soon," I say and she nods.

"What exactly are we talking about?" she asks.

"The baby," I say.

"What about it?" she asks.

"You'll see," I say.

"Don't leave me in the blind Luke," she says.

"I'm not," I say and she walks away to go shower.

Moment later I hear the doorbell ring. I open the door and low and behold it's Elena. She had on a baggy shirt and jeans. Her hair was perfectly straight and her makeup covered her face.

"Hey," I greet her.

"Hey," she says. I move out the way for her to come inside and she does just that.

"Nice place," she says looking around.

"Thanks," I say leading her to the living room.

"You need anything?" I ask and she shakes her head.

"Where's your puppet?" she asks. Before I could answer Selena emerges. She had on my hoodie and a pair of her dance shorts. She tossed her hair into a messy bun and had her black socks on.

"Right here," she says sarcastically. She takes a seat next to me tucking her legs underneath her and I could feel the tension in the air.

"How are you?" I ask and she shrugs.

"Getting by," she says.

"How long have you been "pregnant"?" Selena asks using air quotes with her fingers.

"Four months roughly," she says smiling sarcastically at Sel.

"You look awfully small," she comments.

"Gee thanks," Elena comments sarcastically.

"Alright, what's your plan Elena?" I ask her and she shrugs.

"Wait?" she says.

"How long are you going to wait?" I ask and she shrugs again.

"Till my water breaks," she says looking out the window.

"So no midwife?" Selena asks.

"Nope," she says.

"You're five months away from "delivery" and you're not getting midwives and plans together?" Selena asks.

"Well gee, maybe you should do it since you're such a pro at this stuff," she says.

"I'm trying to help," Selena says.

"Don't want it," Elena responds.

"Does she have to be here?" she asks me.

"Yes," I say and she rolls her eyes.

"Elena you need to be doing these things," I say.

"WE should be," she says.

"It's not my kid to be doing that," I say and she scoffs.
