The next morning I heard yelling coming from the livingroom. I immediately recognized my dad's voice and from what I could tell he was upset at something. He could get angry at fucking anything I swear. I rolled my eyes and grabbed a tank-top putting it on and then walking to my bed to grab the now warm ice pack and walked to the kitchen. Really he's yelling at the T.V. I sighed and put the ice pack back into the freezer. Ignoring my dad I started to grab food so I could stay in my room all day. "So when are you going to move out huh. You are 22 and still living with your parents. How fucking pathetic!" I turned around only to be face to face with my dad. He looked pissed and I knew I wasn't safe here. "Worthless I say." He spit in my face and was quick to move back to the couch. Before my dad thought about doing anything else I walked back to my room and locked the door. I walked over to my bed and dropped the food while I wiped my face with my hand to get his spit off. "I need to get out of this house." I was knocked out of my thoughts when I heard my phone vibrate from the floor. I walked over and saw I had about 5 different texts. 2 from Martin, 1 from Landon, and 2 from Autumn. None from Katie. It's okay I know how she is right now. She needs space that I can provide. Katie has never been a violent person. I decided to look at Martin's texts first.
Mar: "I figured I would update you on Katie. She is still a bit freaked out but much better."
Mar: "She slept over at Landon's house but I had stayed too just in case. She looks tired V."
I clicked off his messages and went to Landon's.
Don: "Katie hasn't said much which I am assuming is normal. At first she didn't want to eat but we got her to eat a little. I hope that was a good update."
Again I clicked off and went to Autumn's.
Autumn: "How are you doing this fine morning pretty girl?😊"
Autumn: "I just heard what happened are you okay?"
Me: "Yeah I am okay just tired."
I went back to Martin's messages and answered.
To Mar: "Thank you for looking out for her I owe you guys big time."
I then turned off my phone and went to my backpack to grab all my work out of it to just get it all over with. After about 3 hours I was finally done with it all. Shoving everything back in my backpack I went on my phone to watch YouTube to pass the rest of the time. After about an hour I looked at the time 7:15pm. "Wow I didn't even realize how much time passed." I got up off my bed and went to my dresser to at least change my pants into something else. I put on a pair of shorts and looked around my room. I should clean I mean I got nothing else to do. Walking back to my bed I grabbed my phone and started to play some music because I had to listen to something. Once I had finished I looked around and nodded, "Not bad Violet, not bad at all." I looked at the time on my phone and saw it was 11:50pm. Wow, took longer then I thought. Time for bed. I jumped onto my bed and immediately falling asleep after not realizing how tired I really was. The next morning I heard my door start to open which causes my eyes to fly open. I sat up in my bed and stared at the door.
Oh God if this is my parents I am screwed. I moved to the edge of my bed while I stared. My heart was beating so fast I wouldn't be surprised if it came out of my chest. Then the door opened showing a timid Katie. "Oh my God Kat you gave me a heart attack. Come in just lock the door behind you." I ran a hand through my hair and stood up to change my shirt while Katie closed and locked the door. I was going to put on my new shirt until I heard Katie sniffle. My head whipped around to her and saw her holding in tears. Acting on instinct I ran over to her and brought her into a tight embrace. "Kat what are you doing here if you aren't comfortable." She didn't say anything but I could feel the silent tears running down my chest. "It's okay it's okay I've got you. Deep breaths, in and out." After who knows how long she stopped crying and the hold on me loosened. "Better?" Katie slowly nodded against my chest and I could tell that the crying took a physical toll on her. "Want to take a nap?" Another nod. I walked us over to my bed and lifted the covers for her to go under. Once she was laid down I took her shoes off and pulled the blanket over her and brushed the hair out of her face. She had her eyes closed relaxing into the touch, so I used that chance to look at her facial features up close. So breathtakingly beautiful. I stopped playing with her hair when I saw that she was fully asleep. I sighed and stood up putting on my clean t-shirt. Feeling like I needed a break from my room, I walked out to the livingroom. I had no idea that I was going to regret that decision.
