Switch the tense I write in. Pass-tense works better for me.

"Lieutenant!" A man shouted. "Wake up!"
The lieutenant opened his eyes. He didn't know where he is nor did he care. What he did know was that he had a mission but he just didn't know what it was. The Pelican flew smoothly over the ruined city, avoiding plasma from Banshees and AA emplacements.
The Lieutenant shook his head to wake himself up. He lookedaround the cargo hold of the Pelican. They were all here, Noble One all the way to Seven. They were here, with him.
"About time you woke up Six, thought you'd miss the action" Noble Four said, pumping his ever-present shotgun. The volatile Spartan sat opposite Six, one seat away from the ramp that separates them from the outside. "About to go crazy with all the muttering you did while you slept"
"I'm sorry..." Six responded, grabbing his helmet the seat next to him. "Just had a strange dream" He said, looking into the reflection in the visor. The Pelican shook slightly as it took an indirect hit.
"Didn't know the little grim reaper could dream" Seven joked putting her helmet on her head. "Guess your full of surprises, eh Sixie?"
"Alright, that's enough, listen up" Noble One said, tapping the device on his left wrist. "Six, get your helmet on"
Six wordlessly obeyed, putting the helmet on his head. When it was secured soundly on his head, it came to life. The shield integrity bar appeared at the top of the hud and grew outward, then the motion sensor blipped into view at the bottom left corner with the epi-centre being domination by a large yellow spot. The rest of the HUD fell into place not long after.
"We're to be deployed to the centre of the battle to assist the Marines there. After the area is secure we are to move and to support Marines in the surrounding area... You got that?" Noble One finished, looking around at the other Spartans. "What is is Jorge?"
"What is the fallback plan, sir?" The Spartan-II asked.
Noble One looked away for a moment. "There isn't one" He answered somberly.
"So it's win or die?" Three asked, leaning forward to be seen. One only nodded. "Got it, sir"
None of the other Spartans spoke to one another. The Pelican rattled and turned as it made it's final approach. The Spartan exchanged their last looks as the Pelican lands. Then the ramp slowly descended, onto the battlefield. Not hesitating for a moment, they move out.

Hyousuku/Six
Hyousuku slowly opened his eyes. He had half the mind to close them once more on account of the blinding light above him but shoved the idea away in favour of doing something, anything. He was in the Nurse's office, the curtain is drawn all around him, telling him no more than that.
His thoughts turned to the dream he had. It had seemed so real, yet Hyousuku didn't remember an operation like that. Even if he did, he had won and that was all that mattered.
Hyousuku pushed himself up, ignoring the pain in his chest and all over his body. Before he can get any further, Church appears at the end of the bed. The A.I sits on the frame of the bed, looking away from Hyousuku.
"You alright?" Hyousuku asked, pushing himself to rest on the frame of the bed.
"I'm fine... What about you?"
