Camilla and Vic kept in contact by text messages. They hanged out a few times, like they went for dinner and went on a night bowling. But Camilla hadn't dared to call it dates. She hadn't even let him met Jonas or even talked about the fact that she had a child that possible could be his too. The fact that she hadn't talked to him about it made her even more nervous. Usually, it's the first thing she confesses on a date. But this was a whole different situation and she knew that when she tells Vic about Jonas, she had to also tell him about the other man. And then she also has to find a way to get in contact with the other man and tell him about Jonas and Vic. God, this was so messy. There were too many times where Camilla thought to herself to lose all contact with Vic again so she doesn't have to confess her mistakes to him. But straight away there was a voice in her head, an adult voice, that told her that she couldn't do that anymore. It was far too easy to run away from your problems, pretending like they are not there. But with the future only getting here faster and faster, the problems will only get bigger and bigger. She couldn't let Jonas grow up without a father... Well, she could. But that wasn't fair to Jonas and she knows that all too well. She had to get eye to eye with her problems some time and currently it was better to do it sooner than later. But thinking like that while being at her parent's house where she was picking up Jonas, she got a text message from Vic. He asked if he could visit her. Like visiting her at HER house. Her house where Jonas will be there. He had picked her up now a few times at her house, but those times he didn't come in and Jonas was sleeping at his grandparent's house. She assumed by him asking if he could visit her house, meant that he wanted to come inside the house. God, it stressed her out and she hadn't even answered him yet.
"Mom, I think we are going," Camilla said to her mother that was still happily playing with her grandson. Her grandson that slowly is starting to talk more understandable words and full sentences. Camilla always enjoyed the babbling of her son.
"Already? You could also eat here with Jonas. Your dad and I wouldn't mind," Paula, Camilla mother, almost looked disappointed with her daughter and grandson leaving.
"We'll do that tomorrow? Okay. I kind of already took some stuff out of the freezer," Camilla explained, which wasn't a lie. But Camilla needed to figure out what to do with Vic at the moment.
"Okay, promised." Paula said this time with a smile on her face.
"Come on Jonas. Let's get your shoes and jacket on," Camilla told her son who was playing on the ground with some old Lego that Camilla and her brothers used to play with when they were younger. Jonas reacted immediately and stood up to run straight up to the hallway. Camilla looked at the toys that her son had left behind. She wanted to call her son back, but her own mother stopped her."Don't worry about it. I'll clean it up," she said as she put a hand on Camilla's shoulder.
"I'm teaching him to clean up after himself, mom," Camilla explained.
"Well, he's three. He's gonna forget it. At grandma's house he can forget about it from time to time." Paula said with a grin.
"You're saying that now, but you will regret it." Paula laughed as she pushed her daughter out of the living room."Come on, help your kid with his shoes." Camilla finally let it go and helped her son with his shoes and his jacket before putting her own jacket back on. She gave her mother a hug, said goodbye to her father, Matti, who was busy outside in the garage and got in the car with Jonas. She send a text message to Penn before she drove off the driveway from her parents house. Obviously she had been updating Penn about everything that was going on with Vic and now she needed her help. Back at home the first thing she saw was Penn standing in front of her front door. Waiting for Camilla to come home. Camilla parked the car in her driveway and got out of the car."You didn't text me back," Camilla told Penn without any greeting. She opened the back car door behind the drivers seat and got Jonas out of his car seat. Jonas ran up to Penn, who was also his godmother, and Penn immediately picked Jonas up in her arms.
