Dahyun's P.O.V
Lucas? I was getting off the escalator when I noticed Sana and what looks like Seulgi's small yet aggressive girlfriend Irene. I look over to see someone who is very close to Sana. Too close.
He's literally right up in her face and she's smiling? She doesn't smile when I'm around her, apparently I'm intruding her "personal space bubble". She obviously doesn't seem to mind when he does it.
I should put a stop to this. Why? My mind reminds me. It's not like she's yours. I remind myself that the back of my mind is right. I haven't asked her on an official date.
"You good?" Seulgi asks.
"Yeah. Why? I'm fine. I just got distracted." I try to laugh it off.
"Oh, it's just because-"
"Seulgi!" It's Irene and she looks really mad. So mad that I can practically see the smoke coming out of her ears. A dragon. A small yet intimidating dragon.
I elbow Seulgi. "It's Irene. Now's your chance to work it out with her. I'll wait for you over there at the tables."
Seulgi nods and walks over to her, as I make my way to the table by the food court.
10 minutes pass and still no sign of Seulgi coming back. I look up to see if she's still discussing with Irene when I see Sana making her way towards me. Just her, no dude named Lucas, I tell myself in a mocking way.
I pretend to not have seen her and go back to scrolling through Twitter with the straightest face I could make. Internally... I was a nervous wreck. An excited, nervous wreck.
"Hi Dahyun." She says while smiling. Her smile immediately brought a smile to my face, but I hid it right away.
"Hey. What are you doing here?" I ask her.
"Nothing much. I was with my friend Irene doing some shopping when I bumped into my other friend. Irene got caught up with her girlfriend and I was done talking when I saw you here."
"Oh." Was all I could say. She called him a friend. I shouldn't think much of it. I'm sure she obviously wouldn't have gone on that blind date with me If she were dating someone.
"Anyways, how's the company going? Anything new?" Sana asked as she looked up from her phone.
"Mmm no, not really. We're just preparing everything for an upcoming conference with another company. The usual business stuff. How about you? How's your work?" I asked in return.
"Nothing new really. We're just making sure everything is going good. We just got reviewed as one of the best hotels. According to various magazines, so we want to make sure everything is nice so we can keep it that way." She said happily.
I turned over to check on Seulgi, and surely enough, she was there. Sitting on a bench by the escalator and having a tense looking conversation with her girlfriend. By the looks of it, they're being really serious but it doesn't seem to look bad.
I can sense Sana's awkwardness in trying to start a conversation bso I try my best to ease her of it.
"It looks like they're going to be busy for a while, do you maybe wanna go get some ice cream and walk around the mall for a bit?" I told her as confidently as I could. Yet, I found myself scratching the back of my neck and looking down. Almost as if I were afraid she would laugh and plainly reject me.
"Yeah. That sounds great, I'll text Irene telling her we'll meet them back here in an hour or so." Sana told me as she got her phone out of her back pocket and started typing.
"Well Sana...I was also wondering if you- if you would like to maybe think of this as a date? Well not exactly a date just maybe like a pre-date in a way. I know that doesn't make sense but I want to ask you on a date, obviously not this because this would probably be a terrible first date. Well anyways, I'm asking you on a date, an official date. I understand if you don't want to but I just have to get it off my chest right now-"
"Yes Dahyun." I choked for a second and looked up from all of my rambling only to find her laughing to herself.
"Wait, what?" I stared at her in disbelief.
"Yes. I'll go on a date with you." She told me reassuringly.
I slightly let out a nervous laugh. "Ah well, that's great. I probably would've ran off if you would've said no." I told her laughing.
"Uhm, when are you free?"
"I have work most of the week but I'll be free this Sunday."
I smiled. "Perfect, I have that day off as well. I'll pick you up."
She nodded. Her phone then suddenly lit up. "Irene said it's fine. We can just meet them here later. So...shall we get going?" She looked up at me.
I smiled for what seems to be the billionth time since I've seen her. "We shall." I said as I grabbed her hand confidently and walked towards the ice cream stand.
Today is, one of the best days of my life.
