Bowen Spader

It was a late Friday night and we were in his truck, driving through the harshest rain I had seen in a while. We had just had dinner at Ruth Chris; his gift for my eighteenth birthday along with a beautiful crystal ring for my index finger.

I couldn't have asked for a better boyfriend then him. I knew he truly loved me. And I loved him.

After this year, we both would graduate and head to law school at Harvard. Together. It was both of our dreams since the day we met... and we were finally going to live it out.

It was when he let go of my hand and put two hands of the steering wheel, I knew he was tense and worried about the rain.

"I can barley see anything." He stated and began to shake a little. I sat back in my seat and then rubbed his arm for comfort.

"We'll be okay."

And then he looked at me with those irresistible eyes and they were filled with sorrow.

"Ash? What's wrong-"

"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry."

He took one hand off the wheel to grab my hand, and the rain began to fall harder and harder, and the wind push against the car was felt.

"What are you talking about? We're fine!"

Ashton gripped my hand and fixed my ring. "I'll always love you Bowen. Always." He kissed my hand, and that's when a vehicle collided on my door side and I flew sideways in my seat, taking a sharp intake of my breath.

My scream was the first thing I heard, then it was Ashton's colorful choice of words and his cry for me to hang on, and to stay with him.

But then we began to flip, and glass was everywhere.

The next thing I saw was white.

I was laying outside of the burning vehicle I was just in, just 50 yards from me, laying in the snow.

It was snowing, and that's what had caused the accident. As I began to roll over, my breathing hitched and my arm was bloody and torn. I threw up. The snow around me was the weirdest color and all I wanted to do was die in that moment. I couldn't feel my legs, and every breath felt like death.

I screamed hoarsely.

And that's when I saw him.

No jacket, just his nice suit for this evening that matched perfectly with my blue dress I had on.

He was running to me, stumbling in the snow, and when he was finally in reach of me, he fell and took my hand that wasn't too bloody for him.

"Help." I merely said to him, and his tear dropped onto my arm.

He shook his head and began to stand at the sound of distant voices.

"I'll always love you." Were the last words he said.

The last words he said before he ran off with two other guys into another car and speeding away.

Not even calling the ambulance or police.

The last thing I saw before I blacked out was the ring on my finger.

I awoke in a light sweat, and sat straight up in my bed breathing heavily. A glass of water sat on my desk, and Percy beside me mumbled a bit trying to see if I was okay. I gave him a rub and he settled back down.
