"Ethan! Come and PLAYYYY with me!" Sienna screeched. I sighed. Having Sienna as a little sister was simply infuriating. "Coming!" I shouted after her, even though, of course, I wasn't coming. "Ethan, but you're not coming!! Come NOW!" Jeez. Can't I have at least one second of peace? I started running off into the fields after her. "HA! Got you!" I suddenly jumped out at her from behind a tree and picked her up as she started laughing. "Ethan! You scared me!" She said, wiggling out of my arms, putting on a stern face and her hands on her hips. Well, I guess she can be pretty funny sometimes. Even when she's a bit crazy. "Guys! Come on in! Dinner's ready!" My mom shouted from the house."Okee!" Sienna shouted at the same time that I said "What's for dinner?" "Oh, just come on in!" Mom called back, laughing. Sienna and I started running towards home, trying to see who could make it back first. Suddenly, I saw a pair of gleaming blue eyes by the beech tree grove. "Hey, Sienna? You go on ahead to dinner... I need to go check on something," I called to my sister, not taking my eyes off the spot where it had been."Okay!" My sister replied happily. I started jogging toward the beech grove. "Hello? Anyone there?" I called into the trees. I heard a low growl coming from behind me. I twisted around immediately, but nothing was there. Suddenly, I felt a strong wind blowing to my right, and it got stronger and stronger until I thought I was in a full-blown tornado. "Hello? Hello?! WHAT'S HAPPENING?!" I cried, panicking. Then, almost as soon as it had started, the wind stopped, leaving me panting in the middle of the grove. "Boy, I gotta get outta here!" I thought, and started running in the direction I thought was home.
-Once I got home...
"There you are, Ethan! Sienna said you ran off! Where did you go?" Mom asked as soon as I got inside. "Oh, nowhere. I just want to eat now. What are we having?" I replied tiredly. Mom looked at me suspiciously for a moment then stepped forward and ruffled my hair. " You'll see what we're having when I give it to you." She said. I ate my dinner as fast as I had ever eaten dinner because I wanted to get to my room, and quick, so that I could figure out what happened earlier. "Done! Can I go to my room now?" I asked, jumping up from my chair. Mom sighed. "Yeah, sure, but it'll be bedtime for Sienna soon, so be quiet while you're in there, okay?" "Okay! Thanks, mom." I walked to my room and shut the door. "What did happen in the grove? I mean, it's not like animals have glowing blue eyes, and why did a tornado, of all things happen in there? I was still pondering these things when mom peeked her head into my room. "It's time for bed, honey, it's already ten past eleven. " she said. I just nodded, still thinking, when I turned off the light. As I lay there, almost asleep, one last thought slipped through. "Was that real magic?"
