MADELINE POV
I sat in the passenger seat of Grayson's car. Ian and Grace sat in the back seat. We were going to the cemetery to visit my mother's grave.
It made me happy to be able to visit her, but it pained me to see that our reunion would be at her grave.
We finally arrived and I grabbed the roses I had purchased for her. They had always been her favorite flowers.
I remember a long time ago when she was alive we had passed by a flower shop. She had been so entranced by these flowers that she stopped as soon as she saw them. She said my father would get mad if she purchased them so she didn't buy them. Although every time we passed by the same shop she would stop to look at them. I still wonder if it gave her joy just staring at the delicate roses.
Just the thought that my father controlled our lives to that extent truly irritated me. I felt so much hate for him that it made me sad sometimes.
Grace led me to where my mom was at. As soon as I saw her name on the gravestone I felt my legs go weak as I sat down on the grass and began to cry.
I felt my body shaking. I knew she was dead but seeing this just made it more real for me.
I felt warm arms wrap around me and I turned to embrace Grace who was also crying.
