MADELINE POV
I was standing in front of the place I once called home. It felt like deja vu being here again as I knocked on the large wooden door. Except the first time I was with my mother. Now I was doing this alone.
As soon as the door opened I was greeted by the maid. She then led me to the dining room.
The interior of the house looked exactly the same as the last time I saw it.
It felt like I had been here just yesterday. Although deep inside l felt like a stranger walking into someone else's home. It didn't feel like mine anymore.
As soon as the doors opened I saw the large rectangle dinner table elegantly adorned. There was expensive silverware with a variety of dishes placed on the table.
I then looked at Grace and Ian sitting beside each other. Their faces hadn't changed. They did look a bit older but they hadn't changed much. Jack sat near his parents with his girlfriend beside him. It was the same girl I had met at my graduation party.
But then when I turned to look at Grayson sitting at the table I was surprised to see a pretty girl beside him. She had short blonde hair and wore an elegant dress. It upset me to see Grayson with another woman but I masked my irritation.
Grace stood up and walked up to me.
"It's been a while." She said smiling at me.
"You're all grown up now. Look at you, you're so beautiful Madeline. I'm sure your mother would have been very proud of the woman you've become."
