Previously on Helpless: Faith and Cam have dinner, during that time, Faith brought up the fact that Cam should meet her mom. After, they finished dinner and head up to the room. Will her mom like Cam? What will her mom do? Will she hate Cam? Will she approve?

-Faith's pov-

I knock on the hotel door.

"It's me, Mom!" I say.

My mother comes and opens up the door. Her face shows a confused expression. She looks from Cameron to me and back to Cameron. Cameron's grip gets tighter and tighter around my hand.

"Hey Mom, this is my friend, Cameron."

My mom notices us holding hands.

"Hello, Miss. Pleasure to meet you." Cameron says.

His smile gets big, but I can tell he's nervous.

"Hello... Cameron." My mom says.

She looks at me with a face that is not friendly.

"I met Cam the first day of vacation. We both like each other, a lot. I wanted you to meet him." I say, trying to sound as nice and casual as I can.

My mom's face hardens.

"So what you're saying is you two are... more than friends?" She asks.

I nod.

"Faith, you met this boy two weeks ago."

Oh gosh. This isn't good.

I say, "Yes, but we got to know each other really well, he isn't a stranger, mom."

My mother raises her voice and flips. "YOU MET THIS BOY TWO WEEKS AGO. I DON'T CARE HOW MUCH YOU'VE GOTTEN TO KNOW EACH OTHER. HE COULD EASILY LIE ABOUT WHO HE IS. GET IN HERE."

She pulls me away from Cameron inside the hotel room. Our hands let go of eachother.

"YOU SIR NEED TO STAY AWAY FROM MY DAUGHTER, DO YOU HEAR ME?"

Cameron clears his throat and nods. She shuts the door in his face and turns to me.

"Faith, I can't believe you. Are you saying you are going out with a boy whom you met two weeks ago, and we'll be leaving in a week?!"

A tear forms in my eye.

"You will be with me at all times for the rest of this vacation. Got it?"

I nod, and the tear spills over and rolls down my face. I feel so stupid. I should've known this wasn't going to work out.

I go into the bathroom and quickly text Cameron. I say: "I'm sorry."

He texts back a second later. "What are you sorry about?"

I send him back, "My mom. Screaming, slamming the door in your face. Also me. I should've never gotten close to you. It wasn't going to work out."

He texts back: "Don't worry about that. I'll text you when our next date is."

I'm confused. Did he not see my text?

I reply: "Cameron..? What do you mean?"

He replies with a ";)" and leaves me wondering.
