Bride of Shadow

Part 5

As I woke up I was in my room in the castle. The first pony I saw was Twilight, she looked back at me concerned.

"Are you ok...." Twilight bursted out, "When Spike and I found you, your body was ice cold."

"Yeah everything is fine I must of fell sick and passed out." I managed to say.

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah I'm sure. I need some rest now. "

"Oh... ok...bye."

Watching her as she left I knew that what I just said was a lie. Before now I couldn't lie to her, but now I could. Laying there thinking to myself I heard a voice. The voice was low, soft, light, and sweet in a way speaking to me telling me that I could've done differently. Telling me things that I wanted to her. Looking around the room to see where the voice was coming from, in the left corner of the room close to the door stands a shadowy figur of a pony smiling at me.

"Who are you?" I asked.

"I'm you... well you see a better version of you."

"What do you want and why are you here?"

"I'm here to help you. You see deep down you want more than love from an alicorn princess, you want to be in power. You want to be the ruler, you want power, and I'm here to help you get what you want."

"How do you know I love her?"

"What did I say... I'm you I know everything about you."

"But I don't want power I just want to be happy with her."

"Don't you see she doesn't love you. She never will see you that way, because of your past."

"No that's not ture. I know her and she doesn't think that."

"Oh but she does. I can so you what I see."

With a flash of light I was in another room were Twilight was. She was speaking with Spike who was writing a letter. 

"Spike write a letter to the Princess. 'In the time I'm spending with Tempest like you had asked me to, I have found that she has feelings for me. She doesn't need to say I could tell, however I don't share those feelings for her. You see I can't simply trust her after what she did to us and all of Equestria. I can not and will not fall for her because of that, besides shes not a pony worth loving.' That will be all Spike send it off."

"Ok Twilight."

"Do you see Tempest she doesn't love you she never will."

"Why this...this can't be true I don't want to believe this."

"Oh but it is ture sooner or later you will come to the facts and know for yourself the truth. "

"No it can't be..."

Traling off into sobbs I could make out the figure smiling at me as she disappeared into the shadow. How can she be right, this wasn't the Twilight I know, but it felt very real to me.
