Cathy (POV)

After saying my goodbyes to my football teammates, I trudged towards my dorm slowly and painfully. Each step I took sent spasms of agonizing pain in my rib-cage. My thigh muscles were throbbing, my back was stiff and my whole body was aching with every movement I made.

When I finally reached the hall in my dorm, I felt exhausted. It was all because of that football. I have never in my entire life until now, exercised this much!

I felt drowsy and faint. I wondered how I would complete the electrical work tomorrow.. before Ching came. Guess I'd have to ask her brother to give me a hand.

That was when somebody pushed me hard and walked past me. With all the hours of running, my body was sore. I lost balance from my cramped legs and went reeling to the ground.

As I hit the floor, excrutiating pain coursed through me. I groaned and tried to turn at the withdrawing figure. All I saw was long bouncy red hair and black stilettos.

'Bitch..!!'

I dont know why I had this feeling in my guts that it was that sick dorm leader Mitchell. People here refer to her as Mitch. Yeah, and from today onwards I would call her bitch, I muttered to myself.

With the support of the walls I finally managed to drag my heavy body on my weak feet again. I cursed the bitch several times and swore to myself to take revengeon her, while taking the last few painful steps to my room.

Closing the door angrily I plonked into bed and immediately with a shriek of protest I regretted doing so. My muscle cramps screamed with me and I lay on the bed with my eyes closed, tears streaming down them involuntarily.

Who would have thought holidays could become such a torture?!

I wonder what would become of me when the college would re-open.

I couldnt care any less about changing my clothes and I settled under the blankets in my cargo itself.

Ching (POV)

If only Sam would drive a bit slower. I dont get why Sam and Cath seem so similar sometimes. They appear more like siblings than we do. He is almost my opposite. He is loud, outgoing, always talking about himself, laughing his days by.. as if he lives without a care in the world.

Sometimes, I wish I could be so carefree like Sam and Cathy. But then, with Cath its different. I know she seems cheerful and funny, yet she does think a lot. She wouldnt admit it, but I have seen her sit in a corner sipping hot cocoa with a book in her hand looking far away lost in her own thoughts. And the look in her emerald eyes then is so dream-like. I know she gets misty-eyed after reading emotional stories.

I really admire her a lot. I sigh, thinking about Cathy makes me feel sentimental in a sweet way. Its like touching raindrops that got trapped in between the grass blades. It makes me feel serene and nostalgic.

The three of them have been very good friends of mine. Especially Cathy.

I hope she is doing fine and not overworking herself. She didnt even pick up my calls today. What might she be upto?!

It was morning and they had started off on the road since dawn. By the time its noon, Ching felt they would reach the town. And then it would be a matter of half an hour to the Aelus villa.

Ching sat listening to music on her headphones while looking out at the cloudy streets. She had heard from her father that it would be very cold in winter here. And the town receives a lot of rainfall during the onset of winter. Which meant a few weeks from now. The overcast climate reminded her of her grandmother.

"Grandmother lives in the neighbouring town in this side, doesnt she Sam?" She asked looking at him in the rear-view mirror.

"Yeah. I bet so. Do you wanna visit her sometime before the college starts? You could keep the car then if you want. And I'll tell Dad that you need it. Then he'll have to buy me a new car. Dude, do I crave a new one!"

"There dont start overthinking now. I dont need the car for visiting granny. I can take the local transport. Infact I'd love to travel that way." She replied.

"Damn it. Such a little prick of a sister I have got." He complained under his breath, grabbing the gear shift knob forcefully and venting his frustration on the vehicle.

"I can hear that Sam." Ching looked at him with an unamused expression.

More grunts and grumbling came from the brother. The car continued racing through the road.

Ching went to her music and reveries.
