"Fancy seeing your face after three months. What a wondrous sister you are!" Helena Ruiz, my younger sister, sneered as soon as I appeared at the door step.

"Fancy meeting you too, sister."

Just as she opened her mouth to make, no doubt, a snarky comment, the most glamorous of parents made their way down the stairs, laughing, probably at a people who they had caused misery, Rodriguez and Mildred Ruiz. My parents!

Mildred was ready to kill me with her glare but her husband stopped her.

Who knew they could be afraid? They couldn't afford to hide a body before their guest arrived. Must be a very important guests!

Ding dong!!

Helena, almost tripped as she practically ran to the door. I guess it's her perfect boyfriend.

I hope you noticed the sarcasm.

Helena cried, excitedly, a little bit too much, if they ask me.

Which I know they would never ask.

I heard a slobbery sound. No doubt, them, kissing like they haven't seen each other in centuries.

I rolled my eyes and headed to the kitchen, my sanctuary, in this mad house.

"Hi, Patty." The middle aged woman looked at me like I just gave her a  heart attack.

Ok, maybe I did.

Her eyes roamed me up and down. Her dotting motherly eyes reminded me of my granny. I noticed she had tears in her eyes. I also noticed the fast growing wrinkles and also the heavy dark circles under her eyes.

"Oh, dear!" She gazed at me, up and down.

Air left my lungs immediately she crushed me into a hug. I couldn't breathe but, I couldn't bring to let go. I missed her so much.

When she, finally, let go, I started choking as air into my lungs. Patty patted my back.

"How have you been?" She turned to the stove. "I was really worried. I thought you--"

I hugged her from behind. "I'm fine. Trust me! I have Ella and Jandra to distract me." I paused for a second. "Ah!! And Vazquez too."

"Mhmm, I'm glad you --"

"Patty, hurry up. They will be here soon." Mildred yelled, across wherever she is.

Patty sighed. She looked tired and worn. She immediately into a chef mode. She belted out orders to the kitchen staffs and they immediately got to work.

I excused them and went straight to my room.

I made my way upstairs, avoiding Mildred and Rodriguez as much as possible. I walked into my room. It was just how I had left it. Empty.

I dropped the light shoulder bag I had been carrying around on the empty bed. I peeked into the walk in closet. The arrays of clothing I had ceased to use. Baggy, cheap clothings.

I looked for something presentable to wear. I knew it was futile. I had no dress when I lived here. Not even cheap ones. I didn't like them. I sighed. How naive of me to think I was gonna wear baggy clothings forever.

I turned to leave when I sighted an outfit. I smirked. It was perfect for the occasion.
