"A-and did you say Bob?" My voice quivering.
"Yeah Bob, the small chubby bald guy about yay tall," she said holding her hand high enough to describe a five foot tall man, "Do you know Bob?"
"Y-yes he's our butler-"
"Oh! You're the kid! I've heard so much about you." She said lowering down what she was pointing at me, "Oh my, the room is so dark; why didn't you open the lights? Anyways," she said clapping her hands twice and the lights flickered on showing the rather homey appearance of the library.
"You do?" I asked in confusion.
"Yes! You're Elizabeth right?" She said handing me my flashlight.
"Y-yeah, yeah, I am."
I can't believe I'm talking to a floating purple puff of smoke.
I must be going mad.
"Don't be so nervous all huddled up in the corner. I won't burn you alive like my friend Pyre. He's a dragon."
"You have a friend who's a dragon?"
"Yeah, don't you? Stupid me. Where are my manners? I'm Thalia." She said offering a hand to help me up.
"I've heard you love to read, paint, and sometimes sneak in the back to play a little bit of the piano."
Gosh, I still haven't figured what she is; moreover, who she is and she already knows everything about me.
"Did you spy on me?"
"Oh, no, I don't spy on people that's just weird."
"Then how do you know me so well?"
"I told you! Bob told me! You people can be so forgetful."
"How long have you known Bob?"
"About as long as I knew your father-"
"You knew my father?!"
"Yes, you know you don't have to question what I whatever I just tell you." She snapped her fingers and appeared to be sitting down on top of the railings of the loft.
"It's just that I'm still not clear on what's going on. I open a book and poof I'm talking to a weird magical floating creature with no legs."
"Who you calling weird? I'm a genie. I'll walk you through the process," she snapped her fingers and in a blink of an eye she was floating in front of me, "you grab a key from those drawers over there, but I figured you already knew that since I'm out."
"So, I just open any book and the characters are just going to jump out?"
"Pretty much it."
"Could I?-"
"Open another book? Sure! Oh, open this one! I've been dying to see Celeste."
She handed me a rather medium sized book and got the keys to show me which one to use.
"See the symbols on top? Match them with the carvings you see on the sides of the book and you're good to go."
"How do you know my father?" I alsed taking the keys back from her.
"He's the one who found us here in the first place."
All this time, what my father told me stories about were all true...
"-And Bob?"
"They ran into each other while Bob was cleaning out the your father's bookshelf and must have accidentaly pushed the book code."
