The MAIN CHARACTERS of your book decide which era your book is placed under. If your book focuses on characters from the Marauder era like Lily, James, Sirius, Alice, etc, that will be placed under the Marauder Era. I don't care if your book continues into the "Era" of the Golden Trio, it should be placed under the Marauder Era. If your book centers around Harry or people from his generation, it should be entered under the Golden Trio Era. Even if it technically takes place after the war, it should be placed under the Golden Trio Era.
The ONLY books that should be under the "other" era, are for ones that focus on people outside of those three generations/eras. For example ones that focus around Tom Riddle, Newt Scamander, Olivander, The Founders, etc.
