Fluke groaned at the loud tone of his phone. Groggily reaching out, he grabbed it and answered it. "Hello krap?"

"Good morning! This is your bright and cheery wakeup call!" Earth's voice called loudly through the phone and Fluke groaned again.

"Tone it down, would you?" Fluke started to wake up and recalled the night before suddenly. "Hey! Don't think I'm not pissed at you for what you pulled yesterday!"

"What I pulled? You mean caring for my best friend's safety?" Earth replied, his tone light but sentiment serious.

"I mean sending a co-worker, Ohm of all people, to babysit me!" Fluke huffed as he pushed himself up to sit against the headboard.

There was a pause. "I didn't send him, Fluke. He offered."

"Huh?" Fluke wasn't sure what that meant.

"He noticed I was worried about you and offered to look out for you." Fluke was about to gripe again but Earth continued. "He even said he didn't want to overstep but wanted to make sure you were safe as well. Even if you ended up hating him. I told you, he's a good one, Fluke."

Not knowing how to respond, Fluke simply didn't for a few moments. Then decided it's best just to bitch about it more. "Yeah well, he's a cockblock so I don't know how good that makes him."

Honestly, sober and thinking about Ohm's actions, he couldn't help the small surge of warmth and gratitude that slipped into his heart. He was independent and headstrong, he could take care of himself and didn't like others thinking they needed to protect him... but he could also see how reckless he could be and has ended up in some very dangerous situations before. And really, if it had been Earth or another friend in his place last night, he'd kick some serious ass to keep him from going off with a stranger drunk. He couldn't fully read Ohm just yet, he refused to simply take Earth's(or any of their co-worker's) word for it, but his actions last night seemed gentlemanly and coming from a place of concern and not control. Not that that didn't mean it wasn't a long play by the man, but regardless, he could see the benefit of his help last night.

"What?" Earth's voice pulled him back to his phone.

"He didn't report back to you about me last night?" Fluke was honestly surprised. He figured Ohm would have spilled all details to their mutual friend.

"He just sent me a text that you were in your room safe and that you'd need a wakeup call. Now what happened?"

"Uh... Nothing. Forget it." A little flustered, Fluke wondered what to make of the fact that Ohm didn't relay how he acted last night.

"Nuh-uh! Tell me what you mean. Did you try-"

"Nope. I'm still annoyed with you. And I have to get ready for the flight so bye." He hung up and collapsed over into the pillows with a huff. Glancing to the nightstand, he saw a bottle of water and some painkillers waiting for him.

'Who is this Ohm guy?'

.-.-.

Fluke entered the plane to prepare for the flight. Earth had brought him breakfast as a peace offering shortly after he hung up on him, but Fluke still refused to answer any of Earth's questions as he pestered him all the way to work. As much as Earth really wanted to know and Fluke really didn't care to tell him, it was more of a playful game for the two of them - their way of getting over any real irritation between them.

They'd separated after their morning meeting and continued onto the flight where one of the bigger flight attendants, Bosston, came up to him with a smile. Fluke greeted him with a nod and smile but became confused when the guy held out a bottle of juice for him.
