Something didn't feel right and I knew I wasn't overthinking things because Brandon was obviously bothered by something.

I mean, everything was totally fine the days before I had him come over for dinner. Heck, everything was fine until we had ice cream together. That was when his mood changed.

He didn't even want to kiss me at the door before he left. Maybe he regretted our first kiss. Maybe it was too early. He didn't even text or call me when he got home the night he left or he didn't contact me that morning.

It made me sad because I was so used to being on the phone with him. I was used to the goodnights and goodmornings. I never wanted them to end.

"Hey, Tobias. Are you coming downstairs to watch me play Sims?" Cass asked.

I was too busy looking down at my phone for a Brandon text. "Cass, what happens when someone you're dating ghosts you?"

"Brandon is ghosting you?"

"Kind of."

"Oh no!" Cass sat next to me and then gave me a side hug. "Are you okay?"

"Not really. I'm just confused. Everything seemed to be going fine until we came down for ice cream. After that, I don't know what happened."

"Oh." Cass removed her arm from around me.

I was so confused. "What?"

"I think I know why he's been ghosting you then."

My eyes shot opened. "Really? Tell me!"

"You don't remember what you called him?"

I shook my head as I thought about what I could have possibly said to upset him. "No. I really don't remember."

"You called him your boyfriend which caught everyone off guard especially Brandon."

"I-" I couldn't believe it. I was speechless. I was embarrassed honestly. "I'm so stupid."

"You're not."

"I am! Oh my god!" I leaned into my hands and screamed into them. "No wonder he was acting so weird! It was already worse enough that I had him meet my family so soon but then I called him my boyfriend! Ugh! I want to cry so bad!"

I felt Cass's hand on my back as she gently rubbed it. "Don't worry about it too much. I'm sure he'll forget about it by tomorrow."

"I promise I'm really trying to not mess this up."

"I know. If Brandon really likes you, he will not let something like that ruin things between you guys."

"I know but I feel bad."

"Don't."

"Should I make it up to him by taking him out?"

"Like another date?"

"Yeah."

"I think going on another date would be cute but don't do it to make it up to him. It'll just make things more awkward."

I sighed and threw myself back on my bed as I groaned. "Dating is so hard! How do people do it?"

Cass laughed and laid on her back next to me. "This is what you wanted, though."

I turned my head to her. "True." I sat up. "So what do you think I should do for a second date?"

Cass sat up as well and hummed. "Go see a movie, dinner at the park, night stroll on the beach. I don't know."
