Kat's POV

The big day is almost here!! Only a few more days until I have to take the Barr Exam. I have been studying non-stop ever since my mentor, Mr. Edgeworth, took me under his wing. During my time as his student, I've learned quite a lot of things, mainly about the case files and trials, but I learned a few things about him too. It's quite funny, people are always scared of him, but he's not scary to be around at all. I was in Mr. Edgeworth's office looking over old case files when I looked up at the time. "Shoot!!! It's almost 4:00 pm!!! Mr. Edgeworth will be back any moment from a trial he was taking against Phoenix Wright and will be needing his tea!!!" I scrambled up from my spot on the couch leaving my study session on pause and raced to the lounge. Thankfully there was one on the 12th floor. I rushed inside, luckily it was just me, got everything I need for his tea to be made the way he likes it and got started. It took me a few minutes and when I was finished I checked the time. "3:55!!!" I only have five minutes to get back to the office set it on his desk and pour him a cup!! "Shoot I have to move!!!" I immediately grabbed everything and started making my way to his office, praying that Edgeworth hadn't come back early. When I got to his office, I entered, thankfully I left the door open when I left. He wasn't here. "PHEW!!! WHAT A RELIEF!! He's not here yet." I set the teacup down on his desk and poured him his normal cup. I walked back to the couch to where I was studying, and just as I was about to pick up the case files the door opened revealing Miles Edgeworth.

Miles' POV

Finally, that damn trial is over. Once again, Wright managed to bluff his way to the truth. I sighed, sometimes his bluffing get on my nerves. I park my car outside the prosecutor's building and go inside. I was immediately greeted by Detective Gumshoe who I nodded back to as I headed to the stairwell. I checked my watch which read 3:56. "I hope my prodigy has my tea ready." It's not that she forgets, she always has my tea ready by when I ask for it or a few minutes after I ask. I smile at the thought. She's a sweet girl. "How many months has it been since I started mentoring her? At least 6? Yeah. I think so. Because Mrs. Fantom started with Gumshoe around the same time Mrs. Wright started with her husband and my prodigy Kat started with me." My prodigy is quite a brilliant girl for her age, however, her newest addition to her family tree is what bothers me. Klavier Gavin. After having to testify for her father for him to keep custody over all 50 of his kids and helped the defense win against my sister, Godot, and Klavier she then asks Klavier to join the family. I hope my student knows what she's getting into. I reach the 12th floor, "Ahh here we are." I walk down the hall to my office and open the door. Revealing the freshly made tea, and my prodigy. "I see you've been studying hard Kat." She looked at me and responded saying, "Of course, this exam means a lot to me." I walk over to my desk grab the teacup and saucer and walk to the couch and sit across from her. "Well then, let's see how much you remember." I took the files from her hand and the ones on the table and put them beside me and quizzed her on everything I have taught her and what she knew from reading the case files and my notes. Once again, she amazes me with how well she can retain that much information. "Well done my prodigy. I think you're ready for your exam in two days. However, that doesn't mean you can stop studying." She looked at me in shock and said, "What?!?! I'd never stop until after the exam or unless I needed a break or sleep." I smiled. "Of course. Now, why don't you join me for tea?" She smiled and nodded. I got her a cup of tea and just as I was about to hand her the cup the door slammed open, revealing the person I wanted to see the least. Klavier. "What do you need Gavin?" I stated coldly. "What I can't see my little sister?" He replied and walked over to Kat and hugged her and she hugged back. Now don't get me wrong their brother and sister relationship is one of pure gold even if they aren't related, but that didn't bother them. "So Herr Edgeworth, is she ready for the Barr exam?" He asked me. I sipped my tea and nodded, "Yes she is. However, she's going to keep studying tomorrow. I'm sure everything is just fine." Although, what I didn't know, is that with Mr. and Mrs. Wright, Trucy, Miss. Fantom, Miss. Cykes, and their father, Mr. Greg Yatogami, something was sent to Trucy that posed a great threat to my prodigy and the day of the exam. The three of us were unaware of what was going on behind the scenes and what was in store for us in the future.
